During Ramadan we strive to be the best we can, we fast (those of us who are able to), read the Qur'an more, pray more and practice charity. Once Ramadan is over do you still attempt to continue this behavior or do you find it challenging to do so?

Alhamdulillah, no. In fact I still forget I can eat or drink, I keep stopping myself to think twice - I know fasting is more than that but I will just use that as an example, I am still staying away from the other bad habits I have a tendancy to fall into -always thinking twice. I see no need to list them though! :D

hmm...i converted during ramadan, and i really was extra careful with my actions then....now that ramadan is over, i still keep my actions in check, but i find my thoughts wandering (haha im a teenager, these things happen >.<) i pretend it is ramadan all the time tho, in order to protect myself from any wrongdoing....but yes, it is a bit harder...perhaps because shaytan is now out there again? during ramadan, it is just YOU that causes yourself to sin...during the rest of the year, it's you plus the bad forces =(

Remembering that God sees me even after Ramadan is ofcourse the biggest deterring element for me :D

I also like to put myself in Gods shoes and look at myself from that point of view as far as expectations go.

I know God probably likes it more when we do good things when theyre not a must, but when theyre not even asked for :)

Assalamu 'Alaikum,

Ramadan is a Blessing that has been sent from Allah (SWT), to man.
Faith, Determination, and Certitude keep man on the straight and narrow path!
Sometimes we must be shown are weaknesses so that they can be addressed, and dealt with appropriately. Ramadan is one of the tools that allows man to open the inner heart.
This is all necessary for (Iman) to blossom within the heart of man.

May we all stay on that straight and narrow path, and allow (Iman) to fill our hearts.

"May the Peace and Blessings of God be always with you."
Insha'a Allah

Ramadan has made me more stronger than the last year,
more polite than the last year,
more confident than the last year,
more humble than the last year,
more receptive than the last year,
more sensitive to others feelings than the last year,
more religious than the last year,
more satisfied than the last year.

It is not the bad habits which ramadan targets at but it makes your character stronger to fight all odds including your bad habits which tend to strike back.

Why do people not practice Humility, Compassion, and Moderation outside of holy days?

Because then people wouldn't need those holy days to remind them to do so.
