OMG, I can't believe you figured it out at such a young age. The worst people I have known came from the Christian religion. Why? I think it's because there is no Christ in Christianity. They read the Bible and accept what makes them feel comfortable or what advances their purpose and the rest can go to hell.
It doesn't matter the religion, look at the Catholics and how they spent decades protecting abusive priests. Look at all the gay right-wing congress people. Look at the Baptists, with their long history of, slavery, rape, Jim Crow, and get a good look at the conservatives who are so materialistic and treat poor people as though they had a disease. Anti abortion on the one hand and death penalty advocates on the other.
Look at all the so called preacher leaders who have had illegitimate children. They can't keep it in their pants.
Other than Christianity, Muslims are suppose to be peaceful people a they have been killing each other for years.
Organized religion--they have been doing the most heinous things in the name of God for millennia. My advice is buyer beware.

Love your name!
I am sorry that you have only met people who claim to be Christians but don't choose to follow the teachings of Christ. I will pray that you will be blessed someday to meet someone who really has been transformed by the love of Jesus. I know many such people...and, like you, I've met many of the other kind too.
I thought my pastor put it very well a few weeks ago when he said there are two main reasons why people don't accept Jesus...either they have never met a Christian OR they have met a Christian!
It doesn't make sense to me either that someone can read the Bible and pray every day and still treat others poorly...arrogance, gossip, prejudice, meanness...those things aren't consistent with the message of the bible. Then again, I believe that Jesus made it pretty clear that many would claim to be following him when they don't even know him.

Doesn’t a good portion of the Old Testament clearly outline how God’s people consistently failed to live up to the Law? Doesn’t it clearly show the horrible things that mankind is capable of?
A college Philosophy professor once warned me not to let despair keep you from hope in God. It is very easy to look at the news of the day and feel an overwhelming amount of despair, pain and anguish due to the horrible things that happen each day. But aren’t faith, HOPE and love things to strive for? What would you consider more suitable?

I believe this to be because so many are fairly uneducated and have never been taught to think about what they are reading.
Truly, I'm not attempting to be cruel here -- it's a fact that if you don't actually have the ability to decipher what you read for yourself, you will often misinterpret.
There is an arrogance that follows religion though (any faith) that seems to make people feel as though they are somehow above others -- the belief that their own cruelty is justified by God.
It's a gross abuse of something that was never meant to cause harm.

I don't know what to say that won't offend these 'Christians' you speak of, so here goes. You are right to assume that these people would be kinder, or at least are supposed to be, because Jesus says to be kind to everyone, regardless of their differences. But these people are not putting in to practice what they belive. I know someone who refused to give some doughnuts to my Jewish friend because they were left over from a Bible study. This behavior astounds me because as Christians we are supposed to be kind and to show others how changing Jesus has been in our lives.

Jesus definitely gives some people an excuse to be petty jerks.
But a lot of Christians just shut up, go to work, raise families, give time and money to church and charity, and are the real exemplars of Christ's message.

Oh my gosh people...get a grip! God is the most real, most amazing thing that you could ever feel. I am a Christian and all i can say about those people that are not acting like Christians must not be living their lives 100% for God. God is amazing and ever since i started a relationship with Him i have had a peace like no other.

As hard as it is to admit, it is far harder to have a true relationship with Christ than people are willing to admit.
Whereas it can and is a beautiful experience, many people aren't willing to put into the relationship what they get out of it.
It is sad you don't know any kind Christians, perhaps it's because they go around *being* Christian and not talking about it. You may know more than you think.

Jesus represents indigo/crystal energy. Most people have not yet learned to vibe with higher levels of thinking and perceiving. They take their bible literally and when it mentions Christ thats what they see, a name attached to a man who they believe to be god. Worshiping this "god" will not make a person more spiritually advanced. People need to learn to see past the fallacies of the bible and view others as people rather then labels.

I think you should maybe find some new christian friends. I know dozens and dozens of kind christians. You are right that there is alot of hypocrisy among christians, and others as well, but you can't judge God by humans actions. I am a christian, and I think you'd think that I am kind.
