Doesn't the bible say to honor God only?

I want to be one so bad but no matter how hard I try it never works. I try praying or reading the bible or going to Church and I always go back to my old, sinful ways, and I want to be saved and surrender to God so badly but I can't do it.

Why are people saying this? I've read the bill (California's SB 777) and I can't seem to find the sections where it says this.

Can somebody point me to the section in the bill that bans the terms "Mom" and "Dad" in schools?

Also, does anybody think it's an interesting coincidence that some Christians are so upset at Senate Bill number 777?

What do you think of this article, please read all of it. Do you agree with one side, both? Why, and if you are Christian, same questions to you. I'm just merely wondering how people would think if homosexuality could be genetic. Hope to get some good answers!

I have asked many different people, of different cultures and religions. Professors and students, poor and rich, all kinds of people, but it seems that each individual answers through doctrines or knowledge obtained from other people

Yet all the answers seems unique in their own way. But all mankind share a certain objective and should have the same outlook and understanding of their purpose on this earth.

I'm sure every new born child is already given the knowledge of his purpose. but many of them i think leave behind their inner knowledge for outer knowledge.

Perhaps you may answer this question without consulting your outer knowledge.

do you ever think or fee like you sometimes get along better, or have more in common with an atheist/agnostic/ buddhist, muslim, etc... than a fundamentalist christian (who is supposed to be a fellow brother so to speak)

i feel liek even though i strongly disagree with the views of some (like say an athiest for example) i feel closer to that person than some fundamentalist christians (especially the arrogant ones who constantly bash catholics)..

News of today..Law pending in Calif. that will ban students in schools from saying.."Mom and Dad"..discriminating against same sex couples. New plan for schools..(Calif.) to give out birth control pills to students of age 10-12. ....10 year olds..!!!!!! They think thats ok... Sheesh. Have we no shame?

Hi, I only want Catholics to answer this question...
What happens when we die? Do our soul become seperated from our body and ascend into heaven or before going to heaven to be cleansed in purgatory? But I'm having trouble linking this idea with the "resurrection of our body.", the confession that we make in our Apostle's creed.
And
What happens when our Lord comes again to judge the living and the dead? I can understand that about living being judged, but which group of people is being referred to by "dead?"
I'm really confused...someone please gather my thoughts~^^
