Scandguard,
There are many differences in the two. First Roman Catholics use Jesus on a cross at the altar while Baptists use a empty cross. Catholics sprinkle holy water on a baby's head, weeks after the baby is born. Baptists fully immerse the person and the baptized person is old enough to choose Jesus in their life.
I know you said you were a former Catholic but you should have known better.
Catholics have Jesus on the cross because the Bible teaches to preach Christ crucified.
Catholics do not baptize by sprinkling but by pouring. Immersion is acceptable for Catholics but is not the usual form for most Churches.
Believers only baptism is not biblical since Christ taught not to forbid the children from coming to him. Since the Bible says that baptism is necessary for salvation those who practice believers baptism only are condemning young children and mentally ill and deficient to hell. This is a heretical doctrine.
In Christ

Catholicism is a religious sect, the original religious sect; baptism is a religious custom born of dogma.

i'm able to in common terms talk for Baptists via fact that I grew up in an self sufficient Baptist church. Baptist have faith the only thank you to Christ for salvation is to get carry of him as own Lord and Savior, in many situations by utilising repeating an straightforward prayer for forgiveness. they suspect that that's by utilising faith on my own they're saved and not via fact of any works. they suspect in an if-filling of the Holy Spirit, yet they in many situations have faith that speaking in tongues isn't as a lot for on the instant because it became into while the Church became into new. they suspect in water baptism by utilising immersion in common terms, and after salvation, yet in no way in the previous. they in many situations carry forth tithing, and tension godly habit and not residing a sophisticated sort of life. while i became right into a toddler we weren't allowed to bounce, smoke, swear, play enjoying cards or circulate to movies. they're very vast on Bible memorization, it relatively is sweet. they suspect as quickly as saved, consistently saved although, a thought I no longer consider. i'm no longer Baptist myself any further, yet am Pentecostal..
