Eze 18:4
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

How can something immortal die?

every change the Watchtower Society makes?

Even when the new teaching completely reverses the old teaching ( and thus makes the old teaching obsolete and to be disregarded ) ?

I see many posts on here that Jews don't believe in hell. However, I notice that the Jews that Jesus talked to (and yes, I am aware that Jews do not count the New Testament as scripture and that this question could get a lot of sarcastic answers accordingly, but know that this question is asked with good intentions and out of genuine curiosity, not derision) frequently asked Him how they could obtain eternal life. Did the Jews of that time also not believe in hell? Then why did they ask about eternal life?

Again --- I realize that many could post that Jews didn't say that or didn't believe it or that the New Testament is all made up --- I think you all know the kind of answers I am trying to avoid ---- but I would very much like serious answers to this question, and I'm not trying to proselytize with the question.

Thanks!

I don't understand why this guy is so popular. Christianity Lite (if it's Christianity at all). Doesn't know his Bible. Never talks about sin, repentence or judgment. I really have to pray to keep from hating this guy.

then why isn't it OK for people come up to you out of the blue and ask things like.....

do you have a smoke detector....or
make sure you have condoms....or
did you have 5 fruits and veggies today....or
have you been to your Gyn this year?

It's because they know it's none of their business. Why is it their business to know if I'm "saved" or not?

What I mean is our blueprint is a highly detailed road map of the route we intend to take.
Since we were a thought of God....God had a plan for us as he thought about us before He created us..... Therefore within ourselves we all know what our personal purpose is.

additional information.... IF we were able to know what our pass life prupose was, we then know what this life purpose is. Since it was in our blueprints from the moment God thought of us, and the plan He created from thought.

What are your thoughts on this, and what is your life purpose?

I am writing a paper on religion and can't remember this word. Anyone know? *PLEASE* don't give me huge pep talks on what I should or should not believe, and please understand that this question has nothing to do with my personal beliefs. I'm just looking for a word for what I want to say in my paper.

When The Holy Quran in Arabic is same all over the world, how come there are so many versions (translations) available in other languages i.e. English, Urdu, Chinese, French, Germen, Hindi etc?

Is there any authority who can assume the responsibility to give assurance to the Muslims all over the world that The Holy Quran they study in their local language is exactly the same Quran which is revealed in Arabic language?

Is there any possibility that the authority who assumes the responsibility certifies a translated copy of The Holy Quran in every language which is distributed to relevant countries?

One such translated copy in each language may be held at some Library for future references.

is it to throw away your sense of logic and reason and follow anything that you're told?

is it a decision to be brainwashed? or are they just victims of brainwashing?

not that I want to become one (hell, no way!), but I am just sincerely wondering.

The dictionary says "good" is to be "morally excellent." Let s look at God s moral standard the Ten Commandments, and see how we do. Is God first in your life? Do you love Him with "heart, mind, soul and strength?" Have you made a god to suit yourself? Have you used His name in vain? Have you always honored your parents? Have you looked with lust and therefore committed adultery in your heart? Have you lied (including "fibs"), stolen (the value is irrelevant), or coveted other people s possessions? If you are honest, you know you will be guilty on the Day of Judgment. God, however, doesn t want to send you to Hell. Jesus Christ suffered and died on the Cross, so you could go free. That s how much God loves you. We broke God s Law, but Jesus took our punishment and died on the cross. He then rose from the grave defeating death. If you repent (turn away from all the things you know are wrong) and trust in Him, God will forgive your sins and grant you everlasting life. Begin by reading your Bible daily and then obey what you read. God will never let you down.

I was an athiest for years, I don't recall having one Christian tell me I was going to hell, just those idiot televangelists on the TV.
For goodness sake! I lived IN Colorado Springs when Focus on the Family became big, and still never had anyone tell me that, of course, I didn't care enough to ask them what they thought either.
So I guess the question is this,
Are Christians just coming up and telling people, "You're going to burn." or is it because you asked them?

'Thou shall not kill' being not even in the text of the bible, but before the book even begins (a hint at its signifigance), how can anyone who is a Christian or Jewish be part of a military whos primary objective is to KILL? Some even use the bible to 'protect' them before, and in, battle. This seems highly hypocritical to me.If obeying the will of god is paramount to ones existence, how can they even begin to justify killing anyone? The president, who commands the military to wage war, seems to follow this apparent contridctory logic.

Please let me know how a person of faith can violate one of the highest pillars of their faith, and even use to ask for protection, which no doubt would lead to them being able to KILL even more of the enemy?

im not anti-war, anti-religion, anti-atheism-im just confused as to this seemingly hypocritical paradigm rarely mentioned by religious leaders or chaplins.help me understand.

You don't believe in a God, so everything in life in meaningless. That means that if you bring a child you hope that he/she will have a good life (otherwise, no point of having one, right?) Well, statistically speaking, there are far more people SUFFERING in this world than PROSPERING. Only a small fraction of people leave with a small amount of suffering and great happiness. There is oppression, diseases, natural disasters, poverty, starvation. So why take the risk, knowing that the odds are against your possible child having a good life?

(I'm just using the idea that more people suffer than enjoy in this world, and if you don't agree with this premise you should learn to read and start educating yourself).
