Christians often seem to want to teach Gay men and Lesbians lessons, but what lessons do Gay men & Lesbians have to teach Christians that may help them better practice their faith?

Sometimes the problems of the world seem so overwhelming, and I am just one person, so I often resort to prayer. Usually I pray the Rosary. What prayer do you usually pray?

Several times I have read people's posts which basically say: Christians follow Jesus and Catholics follow the pope. This is so outlandishly stupid that I'm tempted to not address it. But, I will
Let me put it simply: Christians, if you could somehow go back in a time machine and meet the apostle Peter, how would you react? Would you listen to him? Would you respect the fact that he was given his apostleship by Christ himself? Can you deny that you would be at least a little excited to met this Simon Bar Jonah who Jesus renamed Peter?
Well, that's how we feel about the pope. We believe he is Peter's successor. (Here is a list: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12272b.htm )
Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, the Son of the Living God. The pope is a man. But, the pope occupies an office we feel was established by Christ himself (Matt: 16: 17-19) and we respect that. That's all there is to it.

Do you know why the Eastern Orthodox and the Catholics refer to Mary as Queen of Heaven? Consider this Old Testament verse:
1 Kings 2:19 "When Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him for Adonijah, the king stood up to meet her, bowed down to her and sat down on his throne. He had a throne brought for the king's mother, and she sat down at his right hand..."

In Hebrew and other Middle Eastern culture of the time, the mother of the king was always considered the queen. The word for this was "Gabira", or "queen mother".
Now, Jesus is from the line of David, and among other things, is a king: In fact, he is the King of kings. It would be normal for any Jew, therefore, to consider his mother the queen.

This is totally biblical (if you understand biblical 'typology"), and is also culturaly correct. It is a failing of protestasnts that they read the Bible through American eyes and not eyes of first century Jews, otherwise they would see many of the things we Catholics see.

I know that Fundamentalists do not like to be bothered with actual "facts", but every once in a while I have to throw a few out there when I see posts full of errors.

Here is what the church teaches regarding grace, justification, and works:

CCC 1996: "Our justification comes from the grace of God. Grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us..."

CCC 2010: "Since the initiative belongs to God in the order of grace, no one can merit the initial grace of forgiveness and justification..."

CCC 1992: "Justification has been merited for us by the Passion of Christ who offered himself on the cross as a living victim, holy and pleasing to God, and whose blood has become the instrument of atonement for the sins of all men."

Just because you are muslim and you believe something is islamic does not make it islamic. Something is islamic only if the Quran agrees with it or it is mentioned in the various sahih hadiths. Like there was a question about whether the first wife must agree to it if the husband were to marry another wife. If you believe that the first wife must agree, please show me where in the Quran or in the sahih hadiths that state that explicitly? In fact, in the Quran, it says that it is up to the husband to make that decision, on whether he can support more than 1 wife or not and not the wife.

It seems to me that the liberation that people experience when they are convicted that they are 'saved' is similar to the liberation that people experience when they decide there is no god.

My question is about the power of belief, through decision, on ones mind, and on their life.
