Jackie,
if you are regular on this site you see people posting comments about how blood thirsty God is, and how the God of the Old Testiment was just cruel, ugly and so forth.
Your question strikes at the heart of the christian, in fellowship with the LORD Jesus. The witness of the Holy Spirit in your life prompts you to forgive them.
lets look at this from a scriptural context. First, in the prayer the LORD taught the disciples, he says, forgive our sins (debts) as we forgive our debtors (those who have wronged us).
We forgive not on the basis of our righteousness, but on the fact that God has forgiven us, and we had much sin in our lives when we were forgiven. These people have wronged us little at best, and some at worse. Our sin put Jesus on the cross
Now lets look at it from a personal relationship with Jesus stand point. Jesus says, be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect who sends the rain on the just and the unjust and causes the sun to shine on the righteous and the unrighteous (paraphrased).
In an attitude of perfection, we walk in love. We walk as Jesus walked and love covers a multitude of sins. That you want revenge indicates to your heart that you are not walking in love. For if you were, you would not see these offenses in the same light. Offense, yes, but a muster to pray for them that the LORD would save them, not a call to raise pitchforks and torches and storm their castle.
As a christian, we are able to walk in the Spirit, to honor the LORD with our thoughts, with our deeds and in our words and with our hands.
Revenge is the work of the devil in this life. Long suffering and prayer reaps in us a harvest of righteousness that is honoring the the LORD and shows the world that christians are a new creation, the old is passed away, behold everything has become new (paraphrased).
I wish you the best, keep your eyes on Jesus

I think that would say more about you than it does them, sorreee. The way we were raised wasd to look at like this. the minute you give your anger away within some deed then you give others a part of you they will always be able to dance with. They will always be able to get a reaction instead of a response by pushing or pulling the buttons and strings you allow them too. And they will always be able to bring things down to their level every time. It may be right to forgive and turn the other cheek but now you know what these people are like you can interact or not accordingly. Much better all round, no? It is always your choice...

It depends on what you want to avenge yourself for.
I am an expert at revenge, however, I am also really adamant about proper grammar and spelling, so I don't know if I want to share some of my best secrets with you.
You might not understand them any way, what with all of the proper pronunciation and grammar I throw around.
Unless you want to avenge a poor grade on a spelling test, I'd say you should just forget about it.

Yes it would be a sin: Jesus said in the (King James Bible) vengeance is MINE,saith the LORD. In other words it is not for mankind to take vengeance into their own hands it is in God's hands to exact justice or retribution.

I know this is a tough command to obey - probably the hardest one of all, but the bible says that we are to "do good to our enemies."
Here are the words of Jesus.
And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Mat 5:40
I believe that what Jesus has in mind is to try to make a friend of your enemy by treating them well.

Here's an answer from an atheist . . .
You have no right to damage or destroy someone's property because you don't like something about them. If these people have broken laws, call the police. Otherwise, do your best to avoid them.

Revenge in God. If it is bad, move away. Keep in mind, that, whilst they make your life hard, God may well allow them to fall upon harder times then you are experiencing now

You know, revenge is only fun in thought, not action.
