Why does society shrug off Christian bashing, but gets upset when other religions are insulted?

Oh, please.

Christianity is the most protected group there is in the United States. Anytime you want to trade places with another religious group, I'm sure they'll gladly take you up on it.

Cap (below), you must have a really tight bucket fitted to your head. Just look around you a little, kid. Christians are easily the most privileged group in society. Just look at what happens on this forum - Christians do the majority of the bashing, but regularly complain about being the victims.

Wow, think of all the hate Jews have endured. Are we saved in your vision too?

Honestly, every religion is bashed. And it isn't shrugged off. It's just that locally, Christians run the country, so it's easier for the rest of us to feel unrepresented and slighted. It makes our situation uneasy when the White House runs Xmas and our pledge is under God. In government, the rest of the faiths are not represented equally and this has to change.

Boo hoo!

Christianity has the most violent episodes of any religion in all of recorded HISTORY. Your holy book is full of sexual deviancy (ooh! But that OTHER sexual deviancy is a stoning offense!), murder (ooh! But non-sanctioned murder is forbidden!), the worship of new-age Gods, the degradation of women, the trivialization of women, the condoning of slavery, and other such travesties against humanity...

Nah... I can't imagine why bashing such a religion would be seen as okay.
Add to that fact, the only reason you see the bashing of Christianity getting a bye is because you're Christian, but you don't see the outright lies and attacks on other faiths as bashing... It's blindness. Spiritual blindness, and moral bankruptcy on your part.

And you're a whiner.

Have some cheese, Buttercup.

Awwww... because you're so PERSECUTED there in the majority, and all those atheists keep on killing in the name of Athe but the laws just don't protect Christians because everyone NOT Christian is evil! That's why our currency reads "In No Deity Do We Trust". Back in the 19th century some crazy atheist even changed our Pledge of Allegiance to include the line "One nation... under Athe"! Of course, these uprisings went totally against the Treaty of Tripoli but no one did anything because they were so afraid of catching the immoral atheist disease that leaves itchy, pusing boils on one's skin and makes hair grow on one's palms. Poor, poor, pitiful you. My heart bleeds. (((Gerry))) It's OK. There, there. There, there, Gerry.

Remember in the Bible how Jesus was mocked, spit on, (bashed). And he showed many great signs, wonders, and miracles, as he walked the Earth. But the people of the world still hated him!
I dont think the bashing will ever end until we are standing before Jesus in Heaven.
Remeber Jesus said that we would be hated and mocked but to rejoice when this happened.

You are the majority bashing the minority. People stick up for the underdog.

Who's bashing who? Feeling it's perfectly alright to actually believe that everyone who believes differently than you will justifiably suffer for all eternity? Deal with the 'bashing'. No one is condemning you to hell.

Would you care to give examples of the said overlooked "Christian bashing"?

Because clear thinking people realize that there really is no such thing as Christian bashing. Any derogatory thing you can say about Christians is usually true..
