Christians often seem to want to teach Gay men and Lesbians lessons, but what lessons do Gay men & Lesbians have to teach Christians that may help them better practice their faith?

Gays can teach Christians how to be more open minded. I have a friend who is a lesbian and she is so nice! She was attending my church for a while, and even though she doesn't personally feel the church is true, she was really early for my baptism. I feel I can talk to her about anything that may be weird, or misunderstood by some people(like the fact I can't wait to die) and she is very supportive and open to some of my thoughts about things that she may not even agree on.

Maybe it's just her and not because she's gay, but I know a lot of gay people are pretty accepting of others because they know what it's like to be persecuted.

I think the biggest lesson we can learn from homosexuals is that Christ wasn't kidding when He told us to love one another. This was the most important directive He gave us - to be compassionate towards others even if they are cruel to us, if they are rejected by society, if we do not understand them. Christ did not disdain the company of people who were viewed as "untouchable" by the society in which He lived. He did not shun them even though that would have been the socially acceptable and convenient thing to do. He extended His friendship and His grace to outcasts. If we truly wish to follow Him, we must do the same.

I'm Bisexual. And I hope that I am teaching other Christians to get off the moral soapbox - unless they care more about how they appear to other men, and preach the Gospel. A Gay person is not too difficult for God to save, but the workers of God are too rebellious to follow the command to preach the Gospel.

Jesus is supposed to be our example, and none of us live up to that example - Gay or not! So while they want Gays to conform to their idea of what moral is, they ignore what Jesus told them to do - preach the Gospel!

So this Bisexual Christian knows enough to take on the moralist Pharisees of Christiandom, and I will do so as long as I am here.

How about, "He without sin, cast the first stone?"

I am a Christian, but it TRULY makes me sad at how INTOLERANT so many of my "so-called" CHRISTIAN brothers and sisters really are.

NONE of US are without sin. Jesus NEVER turned away ANYONE who needed him. And God says, "No sin is too great to ever separate you from My love."

Why do so many in the Christian community think that their Gay brothers and sisters are somehow "less Christian" than they are - and that they are less deserving of God's love?

I think they could teach them a lot more if there wasn't the perception (justified or not) that they were just a bunch of drag queen, transgendered, limp wristed, misguided, confused, communist, child molesters. Until you change this perception by starting within the gay community, you will never influence any group of people who don't relate. Never.

Tolerance and Love. Two things that gay people are swimming in. The world needs more of it ... religious or not.

Edit: 5 thumbs down? Yikes. This place is running thick with intolerance. Very sad.

When their own precious children "choose" to be gay, they just might, (we hope) open their eyes a bit. Or they disown them and kick them out on the street.

What can they teach a person who has recognized God's standards regarding gays/lesbians, other than do not do as I
do?
Tolerance and love? You have got to be kidding "coolest ghoul"(name says it all) GLTG are 100% intolerant of the Biblical standard that their behavior is unacceptable to God.
