The dictionary says "good" is to be "morally excellent." Let s look at God s moral standard the Ten Commandments, and see how we do. Is God first in your life? Do you love Him with "heart, mind, soul and strength?" Have you made a god to suit yourself? Have you used His name in vain? Have you always honored your parents? Have you looked with lust and therefore committed adultery in your heart? Have you lied (including "fibs"), stolen (the value is irrelevant), or coveted other people s possessions? If you are honest, you know you will be guilty on the Day of Judgment. God, however, doesn t want to send you to Hell. Jesus Christ suffered and died on the Cross, so you could go free. That s how much God loves you. We broke God s Law, but Jesus took our punishment and died on the cross. He then rose from the grave defeating death. If you repent (turn away from all the things you know are wrong) and trust in Him, God will forgive your sins and grant you everlasting life. Begin by reading your Bible daily and then obey what you read. God will never let you down.

PSALM-14-2, says GOD looked down from heaven upon the children of men,to see if there were any that did understand, and seek GOD. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy ; there is none that do good, no not one. That's why i thank GOD for JESUS.

Not only do I do (not do) those things, but I also let my slave rest on the sabbath, and I avoid coveting my neighbors slaves as well, just like the ten commandments tells me too.

Unfortunately, since my grandfather worshipped an idol once, I'm already damned per the "idol" commandment which condemns the following 4 generations for the sin. And I blasphemed when I was 10, and God's commandment specifically says that I'll never be forgiven for that.

So I'm pretty much out of luck, even if I do treat my slaves in accordance with God's ten commandments.

No, but this begs the question of whether your standard of Good is right or not... it isn't, because no one could live up to it! It would be pointless for God to set a standard that He knew we could not reach, and ludicrous for Him to "do the work for us", since then it's not really US being Good, it's just us getting CREDITED with Jesus's Goodness...

Nope. I don't believe in any of that. Bibles are good for propping up uneven tables. That's it.
Anyway, why do people use religion as an excuse for doing wrong? Why does religion cause so many wars and why are there so many paedophiles that are priests?
The church needs to clean up its act first before preaching to others.

A person should not be judged by religion and spirituality, and definitely not by a definition from a dictionary.

"...God, however, doesn t want to send you to Hell."

Then why does he?

Also, why does Jesus only save you if you worship him? If he truly loved us he would save you no matter what religion or non-religion you are.

Also, in order for this argument to work, Jesus'/God's existence has to first be established, until you can convince me this God of yours exists, why would I conform to his rules?
