You guys aren't religious. You guys aren't spiritual. Anyone of you that claims logic over faith contradicts themselves by coming here since religion and spirituality are the topic. It would be like an illiterate person going into books and authors and insulting those who read.

That's what many people keep telling me-that the belief I was raised in was a cult. & now I think that maybe I should consider myself an atheist. Here's the site. http://www.idmr.net

Who are these "experts" and what are these books that are such authorities that say that such and such a group (i.e. Mormons and JW's) are "cults"?

What is a "cult" exactly? Give me a list of requirements.

Hi, I'm a noob and I am new to Jesus Christ and I want to believe but I don't know. what's the difference between Catholic, Christian, Lutheran? and is there anymore? What else is there and how are they different? Thanks.

For those who say Jesus don't exist or making up BS about what I asked because you don't believe him. Dude, just grow up and stop obsessing about what other people have chosen to believe.

Are the lives of living creatures other than human beings less important? There is, of course, the cycle of nature where certain animals gain their sustenance from other animals; man is no different in this regard. Man, however, has the ability to affect the quality of life of other creatures in a way that no other species in nature can. Does this mean that man is ultimately responsible for his conduct towards other life?

What are your feelings on this issue and how do your religious/ethical beliefs fit into this? Respectful answers only please.

This question has been brought to you courtesy of Jack, an Atheist, and yes, a vegetarian.

This was taken directly from a Christian answer. Not the first time I've seen it either. Where do people get such stuff?

I DO! I DO! Jesus Christ is real! He is the one and only Savior and Lord! He is the one GOD almighty!

I don't have to prove he is real for him to be real. Only the weak and poor minded would disprove of him to be real. How can I prove he is real to someone who doesn't have the intelligence to believe, will to believe, and strength to believe what is real is truly is real?

Those who don't believe him, you may be in the darkness and in the hands of the devil! You have to believe! This is the truth! He is GOD! Stop blocking out the truth! Stop this madness, this evil and sinister thinking! Snap forward and believe! Break out of the hands of the devil and evil! EMBRACE YOURSELVES TO GREATNESS! INTO THE LIGHT AND LIVE LIFE WITH LOVE AND HAPPINESS BEYOND YOUR GREATEST DREAMS!

...they feel it gives our lives no meaning? I just read an answer to another question where someone said they choose to believe in creationism because believing in evolution means that there's no real point to our lives. To me, this seems rather self-serving. So basically you'd rather believe in something with absolutly no evidence or logical thought because then you feel there is a point to your life? Just because you believe in evolution doesn't mean that our lives are pointless.

I was apprently baptised C o E but never went to church when i was young. Iam 39 now with a catholic husband and 2 catholic children. I have been attending a catholic church for over 15 years now with my partner. My 9 yrd daughter told me because iam anglican i dont believe in God, only catholics do.
This statement was a reminder to me of my weak faith. I have committed various moral sins against god over the years. Iam afraid of the after life and what judgement will be handed down to me at the gates of heaven. There are other reasons for me to find grace with god, my question is iam very happy to become a full catholic via the right channels but will god forgive my sinful soul. I want to have a catholic funeral, buried next to my husband and know in my heart i love god before its too late. What do people think.

My family has been through severe stress and trials lately. It seems that my faith was damaged and I am having a horrific time in my attempts to communicate with God.

I used to be the biggest prayer enthusiast you ever met! What has happened to me?

First of all I have never asked anyone to star a question, but please star this question. I want to be able to get as much feedback as possible and by starring your contacts see it and so on.

Anyway I came across the question moments ago.

It got me thinking. I don't feel like I am part of any clique per se, but I feel very close to some of the folks here. I do look forward to seeing their questions and answers.
Maybe it is because online people have the abiltiy to be more open with their feelings.
My question is what makes you feel close to some of your top contacts. Is it just cliquish behavior or is there something more to it?

It seems God gave us a clear guideline.
Homosexuality didn't make the top 10 even though at the time Moses was receiving the Commandments, the people were engaging in homosexual behavior at the bottom of the mountain.
