Not knowing or caring is like putting a freakin gun to your head and saying ow well. Everyone else cant figure it out ow well is the stupidest thought known to mankind.

Does a person with aids give up Cause theres isent a cure?........get out and find a cure and do everything possiBle!!!

Does a little kid give up on riding his Bike cause he has no one to teach him?............................. get up and keep on trying no matter who says he cant!!!

Should a man with a family lost in the wilderness stop and give up cause hes to tierd and has lost hope.............................
he should keep on trying no matter if how hard it is cause his family needs him.

Than is it worth it to you and your family to give up cause your not convenced 100%.Is it worth eternity even if you Belived 20%.There is still a chance.

Im gonna keep on trying even if I had 0 faith in every thing.
To worry aBout what is possaBle and never give up.
Would if hell does exist. Why limit your self

...with your immortal soul, your eternal destination....???

Yes I realize you don't believe in any of that - but I don't believe the world is round, that doesn't make it flat.

Believe me there is more than a 100% chance that you are DEAD WRONG.

What I can't seem to figure out is why are you betting your life - literally - on some non-existant "chance" you might be right?!?

You do understand the risk, the consequence of rejecting GOD don't you?

You do understand that not believing in something doesn't make it go away don't you?

I mean do you guys go to Vegas all the time? Why are you such gamblers? Does your own LIFE mean NOTHING to you?!?

Is your own PRIDE so important you are willing to lose everything defending it?!?

Can't you see how stupid, stubborn and illogical you are acting?!?

I am a theology major and am writing a paper on the sign miracles in John and how they show the diety of Christ. I have read chapter 11 over and over and I don't see the sign that points towards his deity. Any Ideas? my paper can be emailed to give examples of the caliber of answers need.

Okay, first of all, PLEASE don't discriminate me on my religion. As of right now...I'm Atheist. I was raised as a Catholic. (Okay...so technically I'm still being "raised" because I'm only thirteen...anyway) I'm confused. I just don't know what to believe. Part of me says "Yes, there IS a God." But the other part is saying, "It's impossible!" For one, if I do go back to Christianity, I don't want to be Catholic. It's too...uptight. But how do I do this? I'm confused...lost. Please help me.

*PLEASE do not say "You're thirteen, you have to believe what your parents want you to believe.* My parents don't care; they actually want me to be my own person.

I know that majority of Christians believe that if you are not a Christian, if you do not believe in Jesus as your savior, you will end up TORTURED for billions of years from a" loving" and "JUST" God in a HORRIFIC hell fire.
If they think this is not sadistic and unjust, do they apply this kind of "love" to their kids?
I mean , if their version of God is supposed to be our loving father, do they as parents punish their kids by setting the house of fire and burn them till the end of their lives hoping that after that they will still love them? Or do they threat their kids to use such a punishment as a sign of their "LOVE"?

Remember this, I said majority of Christians believe in a hell -torture not all , some believe that hell is the grave.
This question is for the majority that believes in hell as a torture place for non-believers in this cult of "love".

I have been in a seminary class for a fair amount of time and have had yet another prevelant question. Keep in mind this is a LDS Seminary.

The purpose for life is in agency and the choice to be good or bad, and to learn from those choices. Yet, God sent a great flood to rid the world of all the sin it had fallen into. Doesn't that defeat the point of agency and suggest God saying "You can do whatever, but if ya choose wrong, your dead". I know its not that simple, but take the essence and respond.

For those who didnt read that all- Didnt the Great Flood contradict our so-called freewill?

The time of the exodus is usually estimated to the 13th century BC, during the reign of Ramses II. The only evidence of wall destruction around Jericho is dated to the 16th century BC. Some Biblical scholars give the emporer at the time of Joshuah as Thutmose III (around 1460BC). The wall collapse is dated to a century before his reign, around 1550BC. How does this work out?

I would have to say that most the atheists on YA are just as preachy and self righteous as the christians that they constantly try to question and bash. If you dont believe in god thats fine but why do you even care if sombody else believes. I dont know but most of the atheists ive seen on this sight are just about as closed minded and ignorant as those right wing christian conservative types that they all claim to be so much better than.

Does anyone know where I could find the reconstituted tale of Adam & Lilith? Or the progression of Lilith in myths?

I lost my version, I can't find one online and I'm a bit far from the University's Library to get another copy.

The God of the Old testament is the same as the New one. Only difference is in the OT God had to EXPLAIN how to be perfect wheras in the NT He was able to SHOW how to be perfect.

Ya, He was abit strict in the OT but that's because people are generally really stupid and didn't listen or care, and not much has changed, apparantly, which is why most of you still don't understand.

Sacrifices had to be made to show that the Jews seeked forgiveness and meant it. Christ (who was God) sacrificed Himself to show how much all the people of the world meant to Him and death is the ultimate test of faith. God needs us to die because it's in the afterlife where He can actually do something with us, in this life He has no control unless we allow Him to.

You all assume death is a horrible thing, when in actuality, it's possibly the best thing for us. We are supposed to value God more than our very lives, which is why we sacrifice them for Him to show our faith and dedication.

Instead of using some kind of holy public address system, he communicates by using some old man and a burning bush.
Instead of bringing his son back to heaven on a golden chariot, he props him up on the back of a pigeon.
Instead of whipping up a big jet-powered ark to get his kids out of Israel, he parts the water to let em' walk through;--and then he drowns all those suckers who were chasing them.
Maybe he lost the instruction manual for all those powers he's got.
