Because people are stubborn and choose not to follow Him...He's not finished, by the way.

He used the Holy public address system with Noah. The burning bush was significant at that time because of man's preoccupation with needing to see but also trying to carve what they see into a worshippable object. Can't do that with a burning bush cuz ever time you light it on fire...it would burn up. Teehee. Tricky. I don't know where you get the propping on a pigeon scenario...I think the verse reads "carried up" as if in a cloud or something. The walk through has significant symbology as well and also that might have been done for later generations doubting Thomas's. Google "chariot wheels found beneath the Red Sea." Your understanding is not His and your thoughts are not His. God is a multi-tasker...check out how all the molecules of every single thing in existance in your part of the world are still intact and not flying apart? Pretty powerful. He pretty much WROTE the manual. What can you do that's so gol darn special? Besides mock, I mean. Love in Christ, ~J~

Many people perceive the Bible as a metaphor, not a literal translation. A lot of Christians belief that the Bible is God's way of just showing us how to live, we don't have to actually believe that Jonah got swallowed by a whale or that Noah boarded a pair of every animal onto his arc. Just believe the moral.
Maybe you should try to read the Bible. God never told anyone else except Noah about the flood. Therefore, "if you don't worship me I'm gonna drown your a ss," is not anything near the moral. The moral is more like, trust God even when you feel like he has put the fate of the world in your hands. What do you have against Him anyway? We all have our issues but we take responsibility for them instead of blaming it on someone else.
About the streets of gold. Who said Christians don't like gold? We aren't supposed to worship wordly objects but God never banned us from enjoying his precious metals (gold, platinum) and stones (diamonds, rubies, etc.). Once again, if you have actually READ the Bible then you would know that Heaven has no seasons, therefore the gold would not burn our feet in the summertime.

The Universe always existing doesn't seem valid, because going by the laws of science it just doesn't make sense. Everything must have a beginning and an end. But with God the rules of science do not apply to him. Furthermore the rule of TIME doesn't even apply to him. There is no beginning or end, he is there, always has been, and always will be. He lives outside of the concept of time, he's God, so he can do that. That's from a Christian point of view. Sincerely hoped that helped, and if I was rude in any ways sorry, it was more to be to the point than rude :)

nand: As a christian myself, I can relate to your question. What I found was, that God is very capable of working things out the "easy way". What has to be considered though - if no "brick walls" existed in life, then, what would there be the purpose for God ? How else is God to convey His love for His human creation by allowing His "called out" ones (the ones "called" in this current life), to be become dependent upon Him, develop within a spiritual relationship with Him and attain to the higher calling of His free gift of GRACE ?
All people are not "called" within this life time, only a select few (John 6:44) called the "elect" or what you refer to as "Christians". Ultimately, the "uncalled" will become "called" at the return of Jesus Christ to the earth, and be given his or her chance during the resurrection. It is those obstacles, you refer to, that Christians now, are learning and developing spiritually from, which will enable them to convey the very love of God both, in this life and the eternal one to come, to others. With God, there is an method in the apparent "madness" !!! God planned it all out this way.

Pigeon? What pigeon? I recollect Him taking Elijah with a Chariot of fire, making water come out of a rock, Ten plagues of Egypt, manna from heaven, saving Daniel from the lions den, Jesus turned water into wine, walked on water, spoke a word and told the wind and waves to be still, forgave sins, healed the dumb, blind and lame, raised the dead, claimed to be the Son of man (God; refer to Daniel 7:13) in front of Caiphas, the High Priest; was crucified and rose from the dead; He went up into heaven in front of witnesses, but WHERE DID YOU GET THE PIGEON?
Have you been watching Wacky Racers on Saturday morning cartoons?

God could then be accused of wanting just the wealthy. That is not His purpose. His purpose is to tell even the poorest people he is there for them. His Son was used as a role model for everyone. He isn't trying to win the ones who think they already have everything in the world. He could do all of that and more, but why? Most people do not learn anything if you do it all for them.

So you believe in God, then?
That said, let me ask you a question: If you have to work hard and wait for something, is the value of it not enhanced when you gain it?
While we're on the subject, one of the most consistent criticisms levied against Christianity is that salvation is not made hard enough. Believe that Christ died for your sins, and you're set. What could be easier than this?

You got it backwards. It is Humans who continue to do things the hard way. Why always blame and make fun of God, when you are totally without the wisdom to know? Gods word is here on Earth and I pity the ones who do not want to learn and know it the right way. You have the stories backwards. You don't offend me, but when you fall so short in knowing the truth about God, then your only offensive to God. He Loves you and wants you to learn his Word, and woe to the people who mock Gods word. Ask God to Forgive you, and He will.

Not only that, but instead of making a working ecological system that would work with only a thousand plants and animals he made millions! And wiped them out in mass extinctions at least 5 times!

JANA11:---The "Holy Ghost" was in the form of a white pigeon or dove.
What else can one do except "mock" mature adults for believing in invisible and inaudible creatures , talking snakes, man-swallowing whales, intelligent fruit, and all kinds of childish fairy tales?----Do you expect me to do as your God and his Christians did, and kill everyone they didn't like , or disagreed with, including their children?
We are here talking about the most serious considerations in life, and you are willing to accept fairy tales written by naive ,and primitive people , as a reasonable explanation of of the existence of all that you see around you?
You should hang your head in shame for being that shallow, that you accept the first explanation given to you as a child.
The same people who taught you, were the ones who told you about Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, the stork, and the Tooth Fairy. They have some track record for teaching the "truth", don't they?
