Do you believe in Jesus? If your Dad is Lutheran and your Mom is Catholic, then they are Christian. I was baptized a Methodist but confirmed an Episcopalian. I have spent alot of time studying which protestant church to join and found that absolutely none believe in what I do totally. But, I went with these churches because of the type of service the church had plus I believe the communion is a sacrament where the wine and wafer are mystically transformed into Christ's blood and flesh. Jesus said, "Take eat, this IS my body" and likewise, "Take, drink, this IS my blood." Your parents believe in that too or at least the Lutheran and Catholic church leaders do-as do the Episcopalians, even though they have serious issues now concerning ordaining homosexuals and women as priests. You may need to find a non-denominational Christian church. Me too!

"You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder." James 2:19
That would make demons Deists as others have said you are. Are you sure you want to continue in this line of thinking, or do you want some better news?
Have you received Holy Baptism? That is, did a pastor or priest baptize you with water which was connected to Christ's words "in the name of the Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit"? If not, ask your parents why not? If so, you were probably an infant & don't remember. You should ask your parents. If they say, "yes", you should ask them, "Why didn't you bring me up in my Baptismal grace & teach me the promises of God which are mine through Baptism? That is, why didn't you teach me my faith?"
Chances are, their parents didn't teach them enough not to marry a person who doesn't hold to the same faith as they do? Or perhaps they did & your parents rebelled? That's how God's almighty Word gets unfairly ripped away from your generation.
If you received Holy Baptism, God marked you as His child during that time. Don't you want to know more about what that means? I can't help you much with the Roman Catholic side of things, but Confessional Lutheranism is a beautiful faith that is truly based on God's Word--the Small Catechism is much smaller than the R. Catholic Catechism too :). If niether of your parents care to take you to church, I recommend learning about both from a Lutheran point of view. An LCMS pastor would help you with this if you are interested.
Before you reject both altogether, I suggest learning about them. Perhaps you will find to your sruprise that God loves you very much & desires for you to be in a closer relationship with Him by receiving His Word (from the Bible: Law & Gospel at church on Sundays as well as at home) & Sacrament (Holy Baptism & Holy Communion). Below are some documents that will get you started.
I pray that God would guide you unto all truth, understanding, peace & comfort in His life giving Word through His Holy Spirit. In Jesus name. Amen.

Want to take a trip?
There is a book/film out called "The Secret". It begins where religion usually leaves off. I read the book, I liked the idea that the universe is really abundant and will give you what you want. Then, suddenly I am on this path, paying attention to others and staring into spirituality that I really wasn't looking for ...but ultimately became more important than organized religion in a parsec. Give it a read and pay attention; it can help you find that spark you are looking for since you seem to sense a void.

Catholics and Lutherans are Christian. You are too if you believe that Jesus was the messiah, son of God, or God.
However, there are lots of non-Christian religions out there.
I just can't tell which is a closer match for you unless you're more specific in describing your beliefs.

To a Jewish person, you would be considered a "Noachide" - a righteous, non-Jewish person who follows the basic concepts of the laws given to Noah, such as revering God, refraining from murder, theft, adultery, etc. Just basically being a decent person. The links below may help you understand the idea a little bit; the second one is an organization of Noachides based in Fort Worth, Texas, but we don't believe that you have to be a member of an organization to be a righteous person.
Shalom!

If you have been born again, then you are a born again saint of God and you have no religion. You believe in the son of God. You could be considered as nondenominational.
You faith is only the Word of God.
There are many today who call themselves christian, but they believe with their lips, but not with their hearts. A true christian, a true saint of God will believe with their lips and their hearts.

well I dont know the name of it but it sounds like me when I was growing up. i was not taught any thing ,really. when I was 17 I met a boy who was catholic, I watched him go into the church, he went to confession, I thought that was awesome and I was attracted to the idea of confession, in that very way God brought me into the true church, and i am so thankful and so lucky, it is a gift from God. I think he chose me becuz as a child I made an act of faith, and God was pleased but wanted more of me, and Im so glad for this.

Well, after you study the Bible, you will begin to pick up on differences in denominations. Church of Christ believes you have to be baptized to be saved, while most reformed baptists do not. Free will baptists believe in free will of people to choose jesus...other baptists believe in the Doctrine of Election. Look it up - john macarthur explains the differences well.
Charismatic people believe in speaking in tongues and being "slain in the spirit".
Most methodists believe in being sprinkled, not dunked. Most think alcohol is okay every now and then.
Baptists don't. They also don't believe in dancing....well, most don't.
LOL...Study, ask questions, read, visit different denominations. Then, maybe you will discover something. ;)
