The time of the exodus is usually estimated to the 13th century BC, during the reign of Ramses II. The only evidence of wall destruction around Jericho is dated to the 16th century BC. Some Biblical scholars give the emporer at the time of Joshuah as Thutmose III (around 1460BC). The wall collapse is dated to a century before his reign, around 1550BC. How does this work out?

PatTexas: If Christians are going to claim it's all true and hound everyone else with it, then it takes evidence that at least most of it is true to give it any validity. Christians can either show proof, or keep the scripture and the rules contained to themselves. This is Religion&Spirituality, not Christianity 101.

Basically, the Bible is filled with fictional stories that have vague historical references in them. So, they might reference something close to what happened at some time, but they're mostly made up or changed.

Estimations are not exacts. Check this out. Estimate 1,498 to the nearest thousand....1,000. Hmmm?! Do you think man knows everything? If so, why are there so many people on here asking questions?
