God wants us all to seek him because we want to, not because we are scared of him. He gave all of us a free will so that we can choose our path. Although I am scared to know that there is a hell and that it is a path that people can choose. Just because we have a free will doesn't mean that we should abuse it. If you got to choose right now to go to a paradise better than you could ever imagine or an eternity of pain and suffering, what would you choose. Now just think of this every time you make a decision to something good or bad. By the way, hell isn't just a place where you physically burn for eternity. God made us in his image and likeness. He also made us to yearn for him like a child does his mother or father. Hell is the eternal seperation of your soul from that which it wants more than anything. It's like taking the feeling of losing the person you love the most in this world and multiplying it by 1,000,000 times. Only the feeling never goes away. It stays the same every moment for eternity. Alot of people will tell you that the Bible has no scientific fact, but it does. Study it. Ask a priest questions. Also ask yourself why you believe in Paul Revere, Betsy Ross, or any other influential figure from History. I bet you don't know anybody who was related to them or knew them. So how do you know that they were real. Jesus is the most written about person in History. So, you're telling me that everybody up to this point has somehow gotten a fairy tale to circle the globe and have billions of people acknowledge it as the truth. Ask God for guidance and he will show you the light as he has me. Oh by the way, learn to be patient. God answers us according to his will, not ours.

What kind of God would create an eternal hell for sinners while at the same time claiming to love everyone. If there was a heaven would you want to bow before this vengeful god?

The Bible is a human invention and the fact it is so confusing and hard to understand serves to give more proof that it is not from the mouth of an all powerful loving creator. If there was such a loving God, they would make it easy to be righteous and go to paradise. Hell is an idea implanted into society to control the public, just like people tell children that santa won't bring them toys if they are bad.

I can tell you countless times of how God has provided and God has given me purpose. It is something that someone can tell you and point you in the right direction but it will have to start with you and some prayer. People give up because they try to pray once and they either don't hear God or they don't like the answer they get because they think they know better than God. If you want to search it out for yourself, then try out quite a few churches in your area and find one that "feels" right. Then get plugged into a group that will go through this journey with you. Ask tons of questions. The Bible says "seek and you will find." If something is important to you and it is lost do you stop looking for it just because you can't figure out where it is?

Hope this helps.

hi there,
I understand your situation.. There was a time when I also scared because I don't know if the Bible is true. Based on my experience and of countless others who also had went through the same experience with you, we believed that it all starts with having a personal relationship with the One who Inspired the Book. Then allow Him to help you understand the things you read there. At first you won't be able to understand everything. We all grow into understanding these things, just like babies, starting out feeding on milk, then as they grow up, they learn to eat and digest more solid food, so is the same with us. I would like to humbly offer my help to you so that your journey in understanding the Bible would be a little easier with a help from a friend.. Just e-mail me..

The Bible is true, prophecy is being fulfilled every day. The bible spoke of rumors of war, and isn't that happening today?? Pay attention to the things around you, the end time is very near, so watch the news Near the end time, one large religion, is going to take over, all the other regions, its happening now.
There isn't a hell where sinners are send. Hell is just the grave.,where we all go when we die.
If you believe in God, and have faith in Him, you could do any thing, and he will cure all your ills. You could keep on sinning, and not believe, and have faith, you could die and not receive everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, your choice. You have free will. as for me I choose life. I believe in God, and He takes care of me, I'm 79,will be 80 in 2008. I went 70 years with being sick. In 2001, i had my Gaul bladder removed. I am in good health to day. God takes care of all my needs. Believe me there is a God, who takes care of His people.

For the christian it is very much a text full of truths & knowledge so much that many of our brothers/sisters have died terrible deaths throughout the centuries in order to keep these precise texts for future generations to study and learn from, a book that has been passed down through more generations than I could count and will continue to be passed down till this world no longer exists. The holy bible is the truth, light and bases for living a fine life full of peace/love/understansing.

Um...go you? Look, that's your path, and I respect that. I have my own path to follow, as does everyone else. I'm doing my best to follow my path, and if our paths cross then so be it, and if it doesn't, so be it. Please remember that next time you try and convert. I agree in what you say with not giving up, BUT I didn't give up on any religion, I just stopped believing, think of it like this, once you realize you no longer love your boyfriend or girlfriend, do you still go out with them? Answer will probably be no, since it's no longer good for either of you. Same thing for me in a way, I'm an Atheist because I don't believe in any god (hence the name Atheist) I hope I'm making sense to everyone...and I hope I helped....^_^

The Bible is a book of based-on-actual-events mythology, which people for some reason have started to call historical fact. There's no doubt that a good chunk of the Bible can be helpful to someone, but it's the rest of it that worries me more.

I believe the bible was from God. But you know how people can be. Most likely, man changed it around a bit. I'm not sure if everything is true in there. But I know that some things in there don't sound right.

Regardless of your religious beliefs, always keep in mind that the Bible was written by men, and edited by men. Whether you choose to believe that it was divinely inspired or just want to look at it as ancient Hebrew mythology, it was written by men, and many many things get lost in translation as well, which is why it is important to study ancient and dead languages to be able to interperate the concepts being conveyed from the texts without multiple translations.
