Do you believe that when you die you are immediately judged and then go to heaven? And that you are alive in heaven? If this is so, then how can you say that the Holy Mother and the saints are dead?

In John: 1 we read :
19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

Yes, John says that he is not Christ and not That Prophet? We can understand from this that Christ is not that prophet also. Then who was he?

have increased in England as some fanatics like to claim, their kids still have a much better chance of surviving there, don't you think?

There is almost no gun crime in Tokyo where they have 6 million people and strong Gun Control Laws. Gun Control obviously works provided you ENFORCE it! Or don't you trust your government to enforce it? Now that's another story.

But a country with strong gun control laws ACROSS THE ENTIRE COUNTRY is obviously safer for your kids as England and Tokyo prove. Likewise, Australia where kids are much safer than here, even if there are a few more gun crimes during the first years of new gun control laws.

When people come to a public forum and announce their beliefs or ask questions about religion, I think they're fair game for all the arguments and challenges that other people come up with, but if they're just going about their lives with a warm fuzzy feeling about their religion, and they're not really harming anyone, is it morally preferable to just not bring up the subject at all - i.e. to let their beliefs go unchallenged?

"Dominus Iesus," which riled Protestant and other Christian denominations because it said they were not true churches but merely ecclesial communities and therefore did not have the "means of salvation."

The commentary repeated church teaching that says the Catholic Church "has the fullness of the means of salvation."

"Christ 'established here on earth' only one church," said the document released as the pope vacations at a villa in Lorenzago di Cadore, in Italy's Dolomite mountains.

The other communities "cannot be called 'churches' in the proper sense" because they do not have apostolic succession — the ability to trace their bishops back to Christ's original apostles — and therefore their priest/pastorly ordinations are not valid, it said.

religious leaders repeat the lie that myth is truth until the lie is believed by enough people that their fraud and extortion operations become profitable?

It is a lie to claim that myth is truth. The affirmation of an ability to know about the existence of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth is a fraud that follows from the lie that myth is truth. Conservative ideological authorities perpetrate this fraud inorder to be able; to make threats against the life and or afterlife of anybody who does not submit to their authority; and to extort from communities of faithful believers tithes and offerings in exchange for a lifelong indoctrination in a standard of conduct that these same ideological authorities proclaim to be the discovery of the truth about the will of a good one in Heaven at war with and evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth.

As we know, David, King of Israel had his eye on a chick he saw across the street taking a bath. Her name was Bathsheba, and her husband, Uriah was in David's(thus God's) army. David wanted this chick so he sent Uriah to the front of whatever war they were fighting at the time, hoping he would be killed in battle. He was. So now, David has free rein to go after Bathsheba. Funny that she didn't object, since her husband just got killed, but anyway, she and David get pregnant. To prove His power, and to show that David and Bathsheba sinned, God decided to kill their child as punishment.
Now, I have heard of people who stalk others and kill their pets, or family members because of some mental instability, usually because they are spurned or ignored by their quarry. What I want to know is this. this God of love, who kills children to punish their parents, is He okay? Or does he need psychiatric counselling followed by a lengthy stay in a penal environment?

I never thought about it, but she said why can't creationists and evolutionists both be right? maybe He is actually a giant organism something like an amoeba. Doesn't that sound as valid as any other belief structure being proposed these days? I thought it was kinda cool.....any comments?

Are you controlling of your children? Do you tell them what to belief? Do you want them to have the same ideas that you have? If you say yes to any of these questions, do you think that your actions are ethical. Isnt it very controlling, especially at that vulnearable age?

If when your life ends you go to neither heaven or hell but a place where you must review in detail the last life you lived including all of the hurt you caused others... and then go on to a new incarnation in which you will be the one who is hurt by others?

I have an devout LDS co-worker and would like to give him a thank you gift, something related to his faith and which an LDS would appreciate, but which would also be professional given that we are co-workers. I've seen LDS charms and pins (with themes such as red star, Moroni etc) but I don't know if it woud be appropriate for me, a non-LDS to give those gifts? Any guidance would be great. Thanks so much.

Maybe the lake of fire is actually an ocean of fire. I think that Hell is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire. Does anyone else agree? Who wants to go with me to see if we can find Hell?

I'm personally very much offended by that. Likewise, I was born, raised and still live in America but whenever I hear my fellow Americans say, "God Bless America" isn't that like inadvertently saying, "Damn EVERYONE ELSE to Bloody Hell!"?
