I bring my children to Church. There is no forcing involved. They have been raised to know what Church is, and they realize it is something we do as a family, and something essential to their spiritual health.

I tell them what they should believe on matters of health care. I want them to have the same correct ideas I have. So why wouldn't I approach a far more important subject the same way? It is my duty as a parent to teach them the truth, regarding health care, education, religion, and many other matters crucial to their health and happiness. I wouldn't be a decent parent if I neglected educating them in any of these essential areas.

I raised my child in a loving, caring manner. He went to church with us until he left home to go to college. He accepted Jesus as his Savior when he was 14. When he was 28, he went to be with the Lord because of an aneurysm.

He was never forced or coerced in any way. His parents loved him more than life.

Your question was obscene.

Even so, God bless you.

What is your idea of thinking independent? In your world do you talk to others (your children) of your ideas?

Do you force your children not to play in the middle of the highway?

Do you tell them not to swallow poison?

Do you want them to have the same ideas about safety and self-preservation as you do?

If you say yes to these questions, do you think that your actions are ethical? Isn't it very controlling, especially at that vulnerable age?

Do you force your children to learn to read? Do you tell them what to believe about the way letters form words and represent sounds? Do you want them to speak the same language that you do?

If you say yes to these questions, do you think that your actions are ethical? Isn't it very controlling, especially at that vulnerable age?

Do you force your children to study math?

Do you tell them what to believe about the way numbers represent things in the real world and can be used in mathematical operations like adding and multiplying?

Do you want them to be as proficient as you are in math?

If you say yes to any of these questions do you think your actions are ethical? Isn't it very controlling, especially at that vulnerable age?

No. And I don't have to. My kid found the church we all go to, and she loves it. She goes more than me. She would live there if I would let her, but I try to keep her balanced with other activities.

LOL..they can stop going to church when they start paying the bills and find their own way of living.

meaning...i am the parent and as a parent i am not their friend. i have to guide them and hopefully they will make the right decisions in life.
