religious leaders repeat the lie that myth is truth until the lie is believed by enough people that their fraud and extortion operations become profitable?

It is a lie to claim that myth is truth. The affirmation of an ability to know about the existence of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth is a fraud that follows from the lie that myth is truth. Conservative ideological authorities perpetrate this fraud inorder to be able; to make threats against the life and or afterlife of anybody who does not submit to their authority; and to extort from communities of faithful believers tithes and offerings in exchange for a lifelong indoctrination in a standard of conduct that these same ideological authorities proclaim to be the discovery of the truth about the will of a good one in Heaven at war with and evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth.

Well, religious porganizations are private, so they can pay what they want.

Actually, that's not 100% true. I know of a church that, after their yearly audit by an auditing form, was told that they need to start paying their staffers MORE than they were.. What the church was paying was substandard and not in line with general wages.

It wasn't that this church was treating its staff badly, but it was concerned about paying too much, considering the political and social climate. But they were basically told that by law, they had to pay more.

Interesting point, and hey on the same point how about these overpaid Rock Stars that make a million dollars or more a night, just to blow it on drugs and parties. Can you imagine what good could come if they gave 10% of that to help the less fortunate. Or how about Bill Gates he gets richer by the minute on the work of others while he does nothing but endorse prematurely Computer Operating Systems. Who made him the Deity of the internet? I will tell you who, it is the Government! Yep the US Government is the agency behind making Bill Gates a BILLionaire. Something has to be done! Any ideas? Go to your room, and think about it, when you have something constructive to say come back. Until then worry about things that youare personally effected by. I mean what good does it do any of us to whine about how much money osmeone else makes, while you are whining about that some joker going around with an Amway kit is making money and you are sitting at your computer getting fat and poor. LOL see ya in the Funny Papers funny guy!

This was the most fun I have had with an answer in ages thanks to reading between the lines of some of the other answers and utting their between the lines on the lines.

I wish to thank all the little people that gave so much in their performances and yet left much for me to be the star, this Oscar is really for all of you, (of course it will be on (MY SHELF)! And to those that sit at home and watch the movies, thank you keep your money coming my way. (I need more money for a bigger house for the awards to my Magnifigance)

As I have tried to demonstrate here, there are "Superstars" in the Movie industry that make Billions and it is their fans that cause them to get that. Same with Sports Superstars, why not rant about them? Since you probably watch Sports and Movies, but no you rant about the Religious types. Hey if they can get people to support them at the Superstar level it is none of your busines if you dont want to give to them dont. But please take your whining elsewhere! Or have your Mama change your smelly diaper ya big baby.

Myth has been considered truth for over 4,000 years. Your position assumes an arrogance that you know better than everyone before you. Now, I don't agree that religious leaders should be making millions for their speaking engagements and promoting a prosperity gospel where more money equals more blessings. But in the end, we all subscribe to a myth that makes up our own truth. Which myth you hold, is completely up to you. Read up on your history and anthropology. I recommend Mircea Eliade, The Sacred and the Profane.

Are you afraid of saying his name, God!! You don't believe that Lucifer, the angel of light, rebelled against God and was cast down to earth. He was casted in to Hell and walks the earth as a spirit. A myth is something that has little fact. I don't give to big Christian Group for I believe most have lost their way and are in it for the money. I am a Christian and proud of it but you are hidding behind the words.

If you belive that you should give, then give. If they take under false pretense then it is their debt upon judgement.
