Well I don't know...Christianity's got Jesus, but never underestimate the wise and mighty Zoroaster. On the hand, Islam has the Koran which has some pretty interesting passages, plus it is actually the direct word of God. Personally though I'm going with Shinto. I know it's a long shot, but man if I'm right it'll pay off bigtime.

God centered Religions or traditions are all manifestations or offshoots of bible belief and interpretation. The bible very clearly states that all others ( Non God) are false. Jesus said "I am the Way the Truth and the Life, NO ONE comes the Father (God) except by Me. No other prophet or religious leader can make that claim. No other prophet, teacher or religious leader would die so that others who believe in Him would have eternal life in heaven. ONLY unbelief can keep a person from going to heaven, denying Jesus is unbelief!

Personally I am an atheist, but as far as religions go I would have to say Buddhism is the most peaceful by far and has the least amount of bloodshed in it's history, However Buddhism isn't really a religion Buddha is not worshipped as a god nor wanted to be...So I guess it is the greatest Philosophy.

Well, you sure know which questions to ask!

I've always said that the best religion is the religion of whoever is the most clever debater in the room.

You can call it religion if you want to, but the only way of receiving salvation, and escaping the fires of Hell, is by believing what God's Holy Word tells us. And it tells us that the only way to receive eternal life is through Jesus Christ; no other way. There are plenty of religions that promise plenty of things. But they are things that do a person no good whatsoever. God's Holy Word is the only thing that truly gives a person real security. I suggest you get into it and read it with all sincerity. And if you have not already done so, do what is told in Romans 10:13, which tells us that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved (from Hell).

Whichever one suits you and you are happy with. That could be any of the 1001 varieties of Christianity before you even start looking at any of the multitude of non-Christian religions.

Why not be a good, moral, ethical atheist and reject all the religions.

You're seeking bias information. This is not the best way to go about it. Study the Bible, the Quran, the Book of Mormon, etc... and you will find the truth. You will also find the Bible is the most rational and has no contradictions. But, don't take it from me, study for yourself. I'll pray for you.

Who says there has to be a "best," one that is better than all else? All of them have their positives and negatives, although some may have more one way or the other.

No matter what name we call Him, we're all praying to the same God. No matter what path we take, all will eventually lead to Him. God doesn't care either way, for He is UNCONDITIONALLY loving.

The best religion is that whichever brings you a feeling of spiritual joy and peace. So.. my faith is best for me, but might be horrible for you. That's how it works.

In my opinion, there is no "best" religion for everyone.

I am puzzled by the responses which say that no religion matters, but only Jesus does. In my opinion, saying only Jesus matters, but religion does not is disingenous, as the religion centered on Jesus has a name: it's called "Christianity."
