I think I now understand why it's not advisable to let the laymen get hold of the Bible, because look at the division and chaos within Christianity that they've caused. they're very much divided. and to top it all, so many cults have emerged because of those people who think they understand the Bible perfectly well.

Genises Chapter one and two are in diagreement with themselves and with what we now know to be fact.
Why do people believe that the rest of the bible is the unerring truth?
Creationists have no sun to rotate around the earth or vice versa. It is simply not mentioned. Nor is the fact that the earth is round and rotates to give us day and night. I could go on but the Book is too long for this question.
Anyway who is God talking to through all of this creation thing?
Bet this question gets withdrawn by those scared of the alternative view. Why are you scared? You have the all powerful God on your side.
Have these believers ever tried the "I CHING". For a "fit all" situations book it's a winner.

What confidence can we have in documents, (1) authored by persons unknown (with the possible exception of Luke, who admits he was not an eyewitness), (2) written four or more decades after the events they purportedly describe, (3) drawn upon oral traditions, and hence subject to the unreliability of human memory, (4) each with a clear theological bias and apologetic agenda, (5) containing many undeniably fictional literary forms, (6) inconsistent with each other (except where one gospel plagiarizes another), (7) at odds with many known facts, (8) with virtually no support from independent sources, and (9) testifying to events which, in ordinary circumstances, we would regard as unlikely in the extreme?

This morning, I was stuck in traffic on the 60, and while sitting there, trying not to cuss at everyone and their brothers, I started looking around at the people in other cars. There was a black guy two lanes over in an old Chevrolet Impala, not one part of that car was painted the same color, but, I could see he was dressed immaculately, probably on the way to work. There were about ten Chicanos in a truck right next to me, and their music was very loud, and they were all smiling and laughing about something. I turned down the volume of my Cure cd to listen to their music. I don't know what the song was about, but I liked it. I saw a white woman in a Honda ahead of me, putting on her makeup in the rearview, she kept making funny faces, I laughed. The sun started coming up, shining on the palm trees, and the cool breeze was blowing thru my car, I'm listening to Chicano music, watching a white woman make faces and wishing I could dress as nice as the black guy. I love people. Do you?

"The Crusades originally had the goal of recapturing Jerusalem and the sacred "Holy Land" from Muslim rule and were originally launched in response to a call from the Eastern Orthodox Byzantine Empire for help against the expansion of the Muslim Seljuq dynasty into Anatolia."

Why aren't people more upset about the Muslim Jihad (Holy War) that caused the crusades and that continues to this day?

I recently watched a National Geographic episode on Noah's Ark. They clamed that it was impossible to the earth to be flooded as the bible clams. The show stated that if there was that much water on top of earth that air breathing creatures, who were above the water, would drowned just by breathing because there would be way to much water in the atmoshpere.

What are your thoughts about this???

Good suggestions? There can't be much cost involved though.

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

2 Timothy 3:15 Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy14 But continue you in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned them;
3:15 And that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works.

I have been reading alot of the posts regarding remembering the victims of 9/11 and I am disturbed by some of th responses. For those of you who respond with malice and hate toward these tributes why are you responding so negatively? I understand that not everyone was affected by the events of 9/11 but why not just pass the post by and let those who want to remember do just that? And do it with peace and reverence for the innocent people who lost their lives that day?

God bless our troops and the victims and families of 9/11!!
