Do you have to be in mourning if today happens to be your birthday?

Think of it as a day of remembrance as with any other anniversary that comes. But always remember that life goes on. Living, loving and being happy is the best way to fight the "war on terror" and honoring those who have passed.

If it's your birthday, Happy Birthday! Enjoy!

Eh, seeing as I don't lose anyone/know someone who lost someone/wasn't there, I don't really feel anything. All I remember about this day six years ago, is being happy that our math teacher skipped our lesson and let us all watch the news instead.
Yes, it's horrible what was done, but there is so much going on in the word today.
We need to focus and try to fix the sorrow that is now, while it can still be mended, instead of mourning over something that is past and can never be changed.

No one "has" to be in mourning. It is NOT my birthday, and I choose not to mourn, but rather to remember and honor those that died (in the attacks, and at war) and those who are fighting for our country and freedoms. But I do not mourn.

Remembering 9/11 does not have to be like going to a funeral. It can be a day to show your patriotism Just like any other day!

Nope. My husband's birthday is today (9/11). You can be saddened by what happened 6 years ago but it doesn't mean you can't celebrate the good things that go on in your life too!

9/11 was a tragedy... I know that... However I don't see a need to mourn any longer... No offense to any who's loved ones died but these things happen daily in other countries... what makes ours so special??
