then I am not free to choose otherwise. Therefore my life is predetermined and I don't have free will. Either God is omnicient or I have free will... both can not be true. Right?

NOTE: If you say "knowing how you will choose is not the same as making someone choose that way" didn't understand the question.

I have been studying for awhile whether or not God is one, or three in one.
It is my conclusion that God is one God, not three in one. What is my rationale?

In the OT the FIRST commandment given by God was,
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD. (Deut 6:4)
I then looked at the New Testament, and read when Jesus Re-itereated this statement.
"And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord"
(Mark 12:29)

Moreover, I then looked up the word one in both Hebrew and Greek.

Hebrew: 'echad: one (number)
a) one (number)
b) each, every
c) a certain
d) an (indefinite article)
e) only, once, once for all

The Greek: emphatically,
(a) a single ("one"), to the exclusion of others, e.g., Mat 21:24; Rom 3:10; 1Cr 9:24; 1Ti 2:5 (twice);
(b) "one, alone," e.g., Mar 2:7, RV (AV, "only")

My question then is, why would Jesus say one to the exlusion of others, and not include himself?
لااله الا الله

TO JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES ELDERS: BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS ARE BIBLICALLY SUPPORTED: Acts 15:20 says abstain from blood but 1 Samuel 14:32-5 says Saul's army ate unBLED meat to not starve and no verses show God not forgiving them. Christ says God also forgave David's eating temple holy bread to survive and that God wants Mercy Not Sacrifice. (Mt 12) The May 22, 1994 Awake tells of 26 Jehovah's Witness kids who died without transfusions, and by common sense in massive bleeding as in car wrecks blood expanders won't save lives http://www.ajwrb.org. About 3 Jehovah's Witnesses die daily earthwide from the unscriptural policy! (Blood On The Altar by David Reed) Yet most normal identical twins transfuse whole blood to each other through a shared placenta and childrens' whole blood is sometimes found in mothers years after birth-- the approved arrangement by God using nature. The book of Acts is about not using blood in all senses and contexts but in the sense of not using it anymore than strangled meat for temple sacrifices -- not in regard to transfusions. Please share copies of this with others to help save more lives.

Yea or nay?

That’s not saying to treat individual Muslims in that way, just the miscreant religion of Islam itself... God loves the sinner, but hates the sin... and Islam is a great sinning man made organization! Islam has killed and maimed more Muslims than the whole coalition of forces has that is currently embattled with it.

There are some people who say something you could agree with, but then they go and ruin it by being an arrogant, classless, jerk and saying something profoundly stupid.

Both in the religious ("God is love. Now BURN IN HELL!") and the secular (Reason is good. If you don't think exactly like me, you are incapable of reason and are an idiot!)

Know anyone who you think should just shut up so that you can agree with them?

(Yes, I realized I just opened myself up wide with that one, take the obvious shot if you must.)

It was September 11, 1857. A wagon train of 160 settlers on their way to California was massacred by a bunch of Mormons dressed in Indian clothes. 17 children under the age of 8 were spared and lived to tell their story.
1st. They dressed as Indians but after five days they changed tactics.
2nd. Then they went a bit away ,dressed back into normal clothes and acted like the Rescue Party who had negotiated a deal with the"Indians".
3rd, Then confiscated all the guns as part of the deal for "saving" the travellers and Mormon dissidents( who were the reason for the attack in the first place).
4th. Took everybody off a mile or so and shot them all. 2 men got away but were eventually tracked down and killed a day or so later.
5th. Took the 17 children they had not killed back with them to Salt Lake City.
6th. Got away with it. After a publicized trial, with the childrens own testimony admitted into the court, only 1 man was convicted and shot, John D. Lee. ( pardoned by Church 1960) The church even protected over 100 other killers involved in this massacre from Federal prosecution thus making them guilty of Murder as accessories after the fact. Then they say "Thou Shalt Not Kill " doesn't apply to them . Only everyone else.

It ended up being called the Mountain Meadows Massacre. The first time in U.S. history that U.S. citizens were massacred on U.S. soil by religious wackos. This event is even more significant because the total U.S. population at the time was much smaller.(I dont know the exact numbers, maybe only 30 million or so) In todays numbers it would be around 1400 dead.

I see a lot of false information being spread about Martin Luther. But do Protestants know:

1. Luther added his own words to his German translation. For example he added "alone" so that Scripture read "justified by faith alone apart from works of the law."

2. Luther called the book of James a "book of straw" and wanted to have it removed from the New Testament

3. When questioned about tampering with Holy Scripture his response was: "Dr. Martin Luther will have it so! And he says that a papist and an *** are one and the same thing."

4. He took faith alone to the extreme writing "No sin will separate us from the Lamb, even though we commit fornication and murder a thousand times a day"

5. His arrogance was unbounded: "“I have greater confidence in my wife and my pupils than I have in Christ” and Not for a thousand years has God bestowed such great gifts on any bishop as He has on me"

Anyone have any other historical information or quotes from Luther to help us better?

The Dalai Lama said:

"I see all the different religious traditions as paths for the development of inner peace, which is the true foundation of world peace. These ancient traditions come to us as a gift from our common past. Will we continue to cherish it as a gift and hand it over the the future generations as a legacy of our shared desire for peace?"

Do you agree that mankind is pursuing a common goal which ultimately desires peace?

World War 2 pitted mostly-Christian German soldiers against mostly-Christian opposing forces given the religious trends of the time? Or do you just dismiss one entire side as "not real Christians" (say, the German side, close to 16 million soldiers)

How do you fit your moral absolutes here?

I read a bit on this and understand that conventional Christian thinking holds the God-head as being the Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. That God, Jesus and the Spirit are three entities co-existing as one sentient Divinity, but that the God-head is three conscious elements. Trinity.

I struggle with that.

The way I see it, there is God (Yahweh/Jehovah). He is the Big Boss. He SENDS the Arch Angel (the only one), Michael, to be his Son on Earth (Yeshua) , to deliver a message, die, deliver a message and RETURN to Heaven. Jesus is not God. He is God's SON on Earth. Jesus recognises Yaweh as his Father and that Jesus does His Father's bidding.

The Spirit is the representation of the Power. The power that God wields, it is a tool.

So, I have found references to the Trinity in older religions. Was the Trinity as a concept picked up to pacify and integrate older religions?

If so, does that not undermine a lot of the Churches teachings?

A Rocky Start

During the late 1500's and early 1600's Christianity was spreading throughout the vast lands of Europe, England being included. In 1531, the English Church (Church of England) breaks away from the Roman Catholic church. King Henry VIII was in reign and head of the newly developed church. The Church of England did not allow any other religious toleration or practices on the soil of England. Christianity, spreading like wild fire, blazed throughout the English/Irish continent. Many citizens professed their faith as Anglican, which is the Church of England, and Puritans. The king being the leader of the Church of England, persecuted the any other branches of Christianity. The Puritans were not allowed to practice their religion freely, therefore resenting the king.
