There are some people who say something you could agree with, but then they go and ruin it by being an arrogant, classless, jerk and saying something profoundly stupid.

Both in the religious ("God is love. Now BURN IN HELL!") and the secular (Reason is good. If you don't think exactly like me, you are incapable of reason and are an idiot!)

Know anyone who you think should just shut up so that you can agree with them?

(Yes, I realized I just opened myself up wide with that one, take the obvious shot if you must.)

I'd started getting into music around 9 years old. I had wanted to play guitar at age 8, but ended up starting at 12 (and taught myself, I prefer that though, I hate being told what to do). The first kind of music I got into was mostly 80s - 2002 rock. I loved Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Soundgarden, The Killers, Three Days Grace, Green Day, Blink-182, Sum41, The Clash etc. So basically '80s metal and alternative/pop-punk, and a bit of '70s punk. Now, being 14 years old, I've gone further and now love bands like The Kinks, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Ratt, Iron Maiden (still), Pantera, Megadeth, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Clash (still), Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, etc. I still like the bands I listened to back when I was 9 yrs old, just not as much. MQ: I introduced myself. BQ: The Ramones, and has been for a long time. Nope, never heard of them. BQ2: Basically every pop-punk band. I still listen to Green Day, Blink-182, and Sum41 but hardly ever. BQ3: I don't know. BQ4: Nope. I wish I had though, they were having a sale down at the record store near me house! BQ5: "Pretty Vacant" by Sex Pistols Goodbye!

I agree 100%, I asked a question and someone gave a really good answer, then went onto another paragraph to make it into a belittleing comment directly aimed at me.

So I wanted to agree with the 1st 2 paragraphs, and was extremely unhappy about the third.

So yes I agree with that.

Find myself really enjoying a conversation- with a new person, on occasion with a long time friend that we have agreed we can disagree and still enjoy each other muchly...
..and then will come this one comment or sentence and I will feel absolutely blind- sided..

.did I really hear them say that ????

If my Sis is with me , and see`s the glazed look appear in my eyes- bless her, she will usually smile at them, gently steer me away before I do a "House ".

..ok I left my self open too...fire away..
.can handle in-coming as required...

Yes and it's that 'Oh, come on! I was with you until you had to say 'you're a _____ so nah nah nah nah nah' that is disappointing. I can't really think of anyone as of late but I can also appreciate people like primoa who never deviate from what they believe even if someone else doesn't like it. He used to make me feel that way until I thought.....'well, did he actually insult anyone?' Maybe I'm just getting used to him...... Namaste

I've also read answers from people that agree exactly with my views, but they say it in such an insulting or angry manner that I wish they'd take the opposite view.

Yes, I've had that a few times.

Usually in talks about the Middle East. They'll say something I'll agree with, then they continue "I think we should just nuke the whole damn place"

...ehhhhhh me not so much.

I feel that way about most songs. Remember Usher's song "Let it Burn". It was a good break up song in the first verse but then in the second verse started talking about how he made a mistake!!! I couldn't dedicate that song to my ex-boyfriend anymore. Gosh...I know how you feel.

Did you know you're my hero?

Yes, this happens to me all the time as a Christian. I'm all for God and love and all that jazz, but Christians can adopt a horrible attitude to accompany it all.
