..Christians if you were living in that era once again, imagine

1. The Earth would have been still "flat" coz it was written in the Bible and the Age of Exploration would not have begun. Columbus would have been insurrected for heresy long back and no more scientific discoveries.

2. No flying machines (airplane) or any instrument of Satan as the Pope would forbid them.

3. We would be still in the Middle Ages stuck down in the same rut for centuries.

--
It's only when men started questioning the Bible and the concept of God that we are living in age where you can preach your gospel by the world wide web. Both Tim Berners Lee and Bill Gates, founders of this concept are atheists.

I'm sorry if I sound stupid asking this, I am not a Christian but always interested in finding out about other religions.
Something that has always confused me about Christianity is that they teach that if you sin you go to hell - but from what I understand, Jesus died to repent for our sins and so you won't go to hell anyway. I'm probably being daft but I don't understand that part.

This statement is a cut and paste response from another user. I've seen the intent of it commonly expressed in different forms and in slightly different words but I have never heard a reasonable explanation or a description of exactly how and what and in which way the "reality" of God is expressed.

".. in my reality God is a very real presence .."

If you have your own reality, aren't you a tad nuts? After all, it cannot be denied that we do, all of us, exist in a quite real and shared reality. So how is it different for you as a believer in God? Precisely, what is changed? What effect does God have on reality... on the real and shared reality that we all live in and know?

So, I have finally decided to go and leave Yahoo Answers. At first I thought I would get some real interesting debate and knowledge, perhaps even a challenge to my faith. All I have seen is a general antagonistic attitue from the atheists, and a whining simpering "why do you all hate me" from the Chrsitians.

As a Chrsitian, I've got better things to concentrate on. Have a good life all, no matter what you believe.

God bless
Andy

having any Christian writings (including the Bible) will mean prison or death and that is why you as a Christian must put to memory and heart, "God's teachings" Not a word for word memorization of a book but the meaning through the guidance of the Holy Spirit of God's will?
And this must be done in order to tell others about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?

Yes. I know Stalin was an atheist. And Hitler may have been. But so?

My answer was deleted, someone asked about verses of the bible and I posted exactly what the questioner asked.
WHERE IS THE VIOLATION?
THESE ARE THE VERSES

Ezekiel 23:20
There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

Ezek. 4:12 says, "Eat the food as you would a barley cake; bake it in the sight of the people, using human excrement as fuel."

2 Kings 18:27 (King James Version) 27But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?

GOD DEMANDED 16,000 VIRGINS BE GIVEN TO SOLDIERS AS WAR PLUNDER AND 32 BE SET ASIDE FOR HIMSELF
Num. 31:31-40 says, "Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the Lord commanded Moses. The plunder remaining from the spoils that the soldiers took was 675,000 sheep, 72,000 cattle, 61,000 donkeys and 32,000 women who had never slept with a man.... And the half, the portion of those who had gone out to war, was....16,000 people, of which the tribute for the Lord was 32."

Women rank right up there with cattle, donkeys, and sheep. And they have to be virgins, at that! Imagine a righteous and perfect God wanting 32 virgins to be set aside for himself!

GOD DEMANDS CANNIBALISM IN THE BIBLE.
Lev. 26:29 says, "Ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughter shall ye eat." Jer. 19:9 says, "I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another's flesh during the stress of the siege imposed on them by the enemies who seek their lives." Ezek. 5:10 says, "In your midst fathers will eat their children, and children will eat their fathers. I will inflict punishment on you and will scatter all your survivors to the winds." Isaiah 49:26 says, "I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine...." And in John 6:53-54 Jesus says, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.

Heart/head? And when do you think it comes about? Do we have a soul when we are born or is it something we need to develop? Where does it go when we die?

This question is directed primarily at Christians.

Would you consider reading tarot cards a sin? Why and why not?

Now, I know some people are going to answer that it is a sin because the Bible forbids sorcery and divination. So, instead of answering in that direction, what if they're used simply as a guide to learning more about yourself?

What if they're simply used as a tool to search the unconscious mind or bring out things you may have never thought of before? Is reading them still a sin in that case, as it becomes less divination and more self-reflection?

So one must accept Favor with Faith, to make your behavior change.
And in condemning someone, one cannot honestly accept favors from Another.

In forgiving, you show your belief in "forgiveness." It then becomes your nature to be forgiving, as well as to be forgiven.
