So, I have finally decided to go and leave Yahoo Answers. At first I thought I would get some real interesting debate and knowledge, perhaps even a challenge to my faith. All I have seen is a general antagonistic attitue from the atheists, and a whining simpering "why do you all hate me" from the Chrsitians.

As a Chrsitian, I've got better things to concentrate on. Have a good life all, no matter what you believe.

God bless
Andy

As already stated, I am not running away lest my faith can't cope. I just don't get worthy debate or answers. There is nothing here strong enough to shake my faith...it's all a bit rubbish.

You only get out what you put in to something. Apparently, you are looking to have your faith challenged. A debate. Fine. Here is a challenge for you: live according to the Christian faith. You can start by not judging all people present by a random sampling of whoever is here. Not all atheist antagonize, and not all Christians whine or simper.
There are days when the personalities that show up leave much to be desired. There are other days when incredibly intelligent people get on here and write.
You take your chances.

Dang... there goes that dratted bullshit alarm again.

I'm curious... how well did you fare in science and engineering, without having the capacity for critical thinking?

I have seen your questions... I have seen your answers... I have seen your web site... I have received your email... and I cannot see where any of it raises the level of debate. It's just the same old drivel, pablum, bon mots and religious slogans that have been mindlessly regurgitated by Christians for decades... centuries, even. The only thing that changes is that as scientific knowledge fills in the cracks and crevices where the 'God of the Gaps' lurks, what was once 'divine truth' becomes magically transformed into 'allegory' and 'metaphor'... and the lies go on, with the claim that "... we knew it was that way all along."

Twaddle.

There has been plenty of good information presented... the fact that you are not equipped to process it in a logical, intellectually honest manner is not our fault.

Stay ... you're the sort of person this place needs to raise the level of debate. There are many people here who do not take the questions seriously, or are just whining. There are also the immature sniping and insults. Then there's the repetitive tennis match between the Christians and secular atheists. Hang on, why am I still here?

Some times I feel like leaving too but then we need real Christians that can ask and answer real questions without getting upset or upseting others. But then no one is perfect, not even us Christians. Some of the people on here are just time wasters and Christian bashers, but there are the genuine people too who really do want a real answer to a spiritual question. Please don't go.

ya know there are more than 2 religions in the world, its rubbish the others arnt on here, and the only people who can debate your faith are the ones who understand it and reject it or incooperate it into something else.

So, if it's such a waste of time, why not just leave instead of announcing your intention to the world? Do you think anyone actually cares? At any rate, I hope the small amount of attention you just received will tide you over for a few hours.

it is a shame that you have decided to leave, you did not give me a chance to answer your e-mail. Where would we be if we did not have both versions of the story, we need both versions to, hopefully, decifer the truth that is somewhere in the middle. don't give up on us yet, there is wisdom within these pages, you just have to filter them out

all the best ST
