They say different things and interpret the Bible differently. Who is right?

I haven't been to church for almost 5 years and my friend invited me to a college bible study. I have never been to one before. I still do believe in God and his teachings, but I feel like I have lost touch. Should I even go to the study, even though I do not have a bible to bring or know the passages well?

The reason for the flood was to destroy all the wicked and nephilim who were the "sons of angels who had materialized and mated with the daughters of men". In other words, they were giants, and they were bad men, so this is when God destroyed the wicked in the earth with a flood, right?

Genesis chapters 7 & 8 tell us: The deluge came within the sixth hundredth year of Noah’s life and continued into his six hundred and first year of life. Chapter 6 goes on to tell us: “Now it came about that when men started to grow in numbers on the surface of the ground and daughters were born to them, then the sons of the true God began to notice the daughters of men, that they were good-looking; and they went taking wives for themselves, namely, all whom they chose.

Observing marriage practiced among mankind, especially involving good-looking womenfolk, they let themselves go to desiring sex life on earth with women for themselves.

Christians, if I may indulge in your doctrine for a moment, perhaps you can help me...

1) I didn't ask to be born, or to be born human, or to be born sinful. These were all events TOTALLY out of my control

2) When I was born, because I was born human, I was AUTOMATICALLY flawed - sinful, and therefore destined for damnation.

3) But, your god (because he sacrificed Jesus) allows me to "exchange" the ticket he gave me at birth with a new ticket to HEAVEN, as long as I agree to embrace his son, Jesus.

4) In the event that I refuse this magnanimous offer I have NO CHOICE but to go where the bus I never asked to be put on takes me - Hell. Who put me on this bus? It certainly wasn't me. Granted I have a guaranteed way off, but I have to make an effort EVEN THOUGH I NEVER DID ANYTHING TO DESERVE HELL in the first place. I was just unfortunate enough to be born human.

So if god doesn't send me to hell, then WHO did put me on the hellbound bus? I was just minding my own business.

It Was Only a Quarter

Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home
to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, "You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it." Then he thought, "Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet." When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, "Here, you gave me too much change." The driver, with a smile, replied, "Aren't you the new preacher in town? I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday." When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, "Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter."

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians and will put us to the test! Always be on guard and remember that you carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself "Christian."
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I have a very religious family on my wifes side. This year I have lost my home due to a fire, had very bad Pneumonia that nearly killed me, then lost my 100,000 a year job, then lost my new home because I could not find another job, and lost my vehicles. Now I am living with my mother and father in law and they are saying it is my fault because I have not been going to church. Even my wife has told me this! Why would god make my wife and children suffer because I have not been going to church? I have kinda fell out of beleiving and they are not making me feel any better by feeling this. Is this the way all religious people think? I have not done nothing wrong here.

who activate it your body ? who command your heart to beat for the first time? who managed the beginning of your life? it's God Atheists, it's God who created every inch of your body, and managed your beginning. then why don't you believe? i am not calling you to worship Jesus or trinity, but worship the only God of heavens, who created every living being. peace to you.

That "saved by faith" junk is a huge load, and you all know it. Bad people are bad people, no matter what they believe. Good people are good people, whether they believe in any given god or not.

For those who don't read blogs.... sigh...
Under an evolutionary perspective, it makes sense to evolve a brain good enough for a collective cell amalgam (a being) to be aware of its existence... and its ephemerity. This brain hosts a mind, a pilot if you wish, that receives the reponsibility to steer the cell community away from harm and make it reproduce and thrive. A mind makes the brain care consciously about survival and legacy... Until one becomes religious, that is...

The same way as a spoiled heir will dilapidate his father's fortune, the ungrateful mind will dilapidate its sustaining body. By despising the flesh, the religious actually despises and even vexes the whole complex organic community that supports it. Since it is the same community that evolved the brain in the first place, it would not be unreasonable to think that it can also devolve it easily in the long run (granted a long long run) if the mind becomes counterproductive to survival. As a matter of fact, flesh di
