Originally the sky, organized into distinct levels: Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Zodiac. In ancient pagan thought, souls descended to the earth through the planetary spheres, and returned via the same route. The "First Heaven" refers to the sky (clouds, etc.). The "Second Heaven" refers to the stars. The "Third Heaven" is the transcendent realm of God. In later Neoplatonic thought, heaven was associated with the world of universals.

There is an up for down, a hot for cold, a black for white, and negative for positive. Therefore, if there is a place of bliss in the next world, there remains a place of torment.

Heaven is that place of bliss found only by those who are in Christ. Anyone who denies that cross, will not be clean in God's eyes as God is the only life that can clean a life and substitute Himself for it.

According to scripture, heaven is so incredible, it has not even entered into the mind of man what God has prepared for those God loves and called according to His purpose.

Oh yeah, this is a P.S. for the small minded. Remember, God made sex and taste buds and health and beauty and strength and pleasure. If God says Heaven is so incredible & the mind of man cannot fathom what He has prepared...we should all be believing Him and trusting that it is HEAVEN!!! Anyone who is not submitted to that Cross, is against that Cross.

Heaven is the Kingdom of God. Those who have accepted Jesus Christ will have the privilege of going there some day. If a child dies they go to heaven without accepting Christ, because they are to young to understand what it means to accept Christ.

I like what Ol’ Doc said, so I gave him a thumbs up: The bible says in Matthew 19:13-14: “Then some people brought little children to Jesus to have him bless them and pray for them. But the disciples told the people not to do that. Jesus said, "Don't stop children from coming to me! Children like these are part of the kingdom of God." †

The Bible tells us that there is not only life after death, but eternal life so glorious that “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to the earth to give us this gift of eternal life. “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).

Heaven, is the place that God created for his angels and for your soul to live eternally if you ask Jesus into your heart and beleive he died for YOUR sins.

Its the place God wants to spend eternity with you because he loves you. Theres no sadness, or pain. Only God's love and the creator of the universe can love you far better than any human man or woman ever could.

Where Saved people go after they die. It doesn't matter how good you are, nobody is good enough to go to Heaven.
You have to believe that Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins and to ask forgiveness. Then Jesus will accept you into Heaven and only them.

And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass (Rev. 21:12,21). Some Bible scholars believe that these gates of pearl suggest salvation by grace. Even as a wound to an oyster results in the formation of a valuable pearl, the gates of heaven can be entered only because the Lord Jesus was "wounded for our transgressions" (Is. 53:5). Although men wickedly rejected Him and crucified Him, it was through this death that salvation was made possible. Now, all who believe on Him can look forward to entering the pearly gates of heaven. Jesus Himself said, "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved" (John 10:9).

The gates are open at all times and in every direction, for salvation is still offered freely to everyone. The angels who keep watch at the open gates, therefore, are a wonderful contrast to the cherubim who guarded the closed gate of Eden after Adam and Eve sinned. These angels keep the way of access open, while the cherubim kept the Garden closed to fallen humanity. One of the characteristics of the heavenly city is the abundance of gold. A precious commodity throughout man's history, gold has been used as an overlay in works of art and as a standard of value, and has been the means of a great amount of both good and evil in society.

It served the purposes of God in the tabernacle and temple, for much gold was in evidence there; it was also used by idolaters in the making of images. On earth, men have fought, suffered, and died for it. But in the New Jerusalem, gold will be so plentiful that it will be used for cobblestones and building blocks. And it will be like glass, possessing transparent qualities, so that the glorious light of the holy city will both shine through it and be reflected by it. Here is John's description: The city was pure gold, like clear glass. . . . and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass (Rev. 21:18,21). Traditionally, gold has symbolized purity. In the wedding band, for example, the circle speaks of endlessness and the gold stands for purity. The golden street of the New Jerusalem, therefore, might well suggest the pure and holy walk of God's redeemed in eternal paradise. And the brightness of the city, reflecting from the gold that abounds everywhere, will have its uncorrupted counterpart within the heart of every citizen of Heaven. Purity pervades the eternal Paradise of God.
