I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness. I hate that and all it stands for, but. I am a human, like yourselves, looking for a deeper meaning. Can you hang with that? Or do you need some holier than thou stuff. Here I am. I am just me. I don't offer any excuses for that. If your god made me, then I am here for a purpose.

I won't mention who I'm referring to here. I think we all know. But I'm sorry but I don't see many questions trashing what they beleive in? Unless it is an answer to their question.

A couple of answers have said that is just sleep, whereas the majority say that is is a pit of fire.
Please help me to understand which of these options I'm turning down.

If you do, how do you put your belief into action? I've never had anything that makes me believe in it.

If God is unchanging, the same from the begining of time to the end, why doesn't He send messengers anymore? He used to send angels and prophets all the time now nothing! Also how can you say He doesn't change when the OT is full of wrath and war and the NT is all peace and love? I am seriously doubting my faith!

Is to maintain an open mind in the face of ignorance not the logically alternative.

A lot of people seem to think that if they believe something, it will be so. For instance, many think they are "fine" because if they do not believe in hell, they wont be going there. Or they believe the lie that they can party with their friends in hell. I have to warn you that there is only ONE truth, and it is set because God does not lie.

So whatever you believe doesnt matter. If you do not put your trust is Jesus Christ, you will not get to heaven.

Seek the truth - God wants you to.

Please don't simply reiterate that he wants us to choose salvation as that wouldn't answer my question, it would merely be a restatement of the issue at hand. Yes, I know it's said that he wants us to "choose" to be saved, but WHY does he want that? Why is free will so important to him? Why would he mind that we'd be "robots" if, in the end, it meant that we could ALL avoid the torment of Hell?

Why is it that everyone attacks the Christians and won't stop asking questions about, Christianity, The Bible and anything else you can link to Christianity?

I am a Christian.

God has given you "free will", and your beliefs are between you and whatever you do or don't believe in.

Why don't you just leave the Christian belief and the Christians alone. I don't see any Christians posting questions, (some of them with so much hate and venom), about Athiests, the belief in Buddah, Hinduiasm Agnostics or any other belief system.

If you don't want to believe, then it is your choice.

If people post questions about Christianity, because they really want to explore, then please let the questions be respectfully written, and all you who "Christian Bash" just leave it alone. And I say this with love not hate.

It really gets boring, and Christians don't report people either for some of the most abusive things I have ever read.

My friends, my heart is burdened for those of you who treat this lightly. What if you are wrong? Hell is a real place and it is situated in the centre of the earth.

Are you a person who enjoys fresh air and light and flowers? Well, if you put your trust in anything other than Jesus Christ, you are bound for a place that has NO light, NO fresh air, NO good thing, because all good things come from God and there is NO good in hell.

Friend, I BEG you to search for the Truth so that you will not have to go to a place that will put you in torment for eternity.

Why preach about hell? Because I care. Because I would not wish hell on my biggest enemy. PLEASE search for truth - urgently. Jesus is coming soon and if you are not ready, you will be left behind. And what if you die tonight? Where will you go?

If you don't believe in God, what do you yell when doing "IT"?

2007-09-07 22:19:14 · 6 answers · asked by maitraya 4

I have a valid question for Jehovah's Witnesses that I've never gotten a satisfactory answer to:

If you agree that there is only one True God, then please tell me...is Jesus a true god or a false god? Your own New World Translation of the Bible states:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god."

If this is true, doesn't that infer that Jesus a god? And if so, is he a true god or a false god? I had some JW friends tell me that they believe Jesus is deity so he is given obescience, but that didn't really tackle the underlying question. If he is a false god, he isn't due any kind of special treatment or honor. If he is a true god, then he is the one and only true god, correct?

I mean communicate like a clear voice, so don't answer that he does communicate but we need to listen, or he communicates through answering prayers. Wouldn't it be simpler if we could have a two way conversation with him instead of silence when we pray. It is so one sided.

In the UK, statistics show that more than half of us believe in God or some form of higher power, and there was a survey done recently that states that about that number also no longer believe in evolution. Are we to believe that they are all unintellingent?

god dosent care if im praying to him as a catholic or a baptist ect it dont matter what man made faith about jesus you pray under the point in fact is we all get for giveness us as christians can all say as long as you pray to god him self dont matter what faith your comeing from you get for givness so whats with the battles with the chrisitan chruch's

and god is full of love no hate meaning i belive no all musim,gay,budist,ect... go to hell i think if your faithful in your own faith you have a chance its not as if god just wants to throw ppl in hell

so tell meh if you agree in the bibel it said a man was thristy another bad man gave him water well that bad man died he thought o i go to hell but god said rember when you gave that man water that was my thirst and welcomed him to heaven so i think mostly every one gos to heaven cause god will find the smallest things to help grant us to heaven

If we have latter day prophets who STILL commune with God in a very intimate way, why have we not received any new "scripture" (physically present in the D&C) for nearly 30 years? It seems that the LDS culture with respect to revelation has shifted ever so slowly since it's conception: Where we once had mighty prophets like Smith & Young who echoed powerful, authoritative revelations from God we now have "presidents" who in the spirit of "Public Relations" passively mutter "advise" from their guts.

More than one husband would rock wouldn't it ladies? Provided they served US instead of the women serving the men. I keep reading about these so called "Mormon Fundamentalist compounds in AZ, UT, etc & men with wives ( many of whom afre under 18) & 30 + kids. How sad. Then the wives collect welfare as single moms. However most ppl I know say 1 spouse is bad enough lol!

I am an atheist, but not really. I would put it as a 9.99 on the scale of "Militant Atheism". I certainly don't believe in the christian god, but, I know that I don't know so much. I know I hate christianity with every ounce of my being, and that will never change, but..., I look at things, and wonder, or maybe fantasize, that there is something larger, like looking up from the petrie dish. I know that all thru human history others have wondered the same, that's where man's invention of god came from. Can we wonder together, without animosity?
