I am an atheist, but not really. I would put it as a 9.99 on the scale of "Militant Atheism". I certainly don't believe in the christian god, but, I know that I don't know so much. I know I hate christianity with every ounce of my being, and that will never change, but..., I look at things, and wonder, or maybe fantasize, that there is something larger, like looking up from the petrie dish. I know that all thru human history others have wondered the same, that's where man's invention of god came from. Can we wonder together, without animosity?

Good for you. You get something that most people don't:
Belief is relative. There are degrees of belief.
I almost visualize it as a gas gauge, ranging from Doubt to Opinion to Certitude. There's a whole range in there, and most of my beliefs fall somewhere short of absolute Certitude.

interior the non secular prolonged kin being sparkling is an illustration of religious purity or goodness, ''cleanliness is next to godliness'' this word replaced into first recorded in a sermon by ability of John Wesley in 1778, however the belief is historical, modern in Babylonian and Hebrew non secular tracts. it remains invoked, in lots of circumstances as an admonition to bathe or freshen up. So extremely it basically ability something of magnitude to religious believers and being an atheist it ability not something to me, i decide to maintain myself sparkling as a private determination of hygiene and convenience. possibly the actual question is - 'Does it stink to be a troll' - You greater advantageous desire not!

I'm am agnostic pagan Witch, and I get it all rolled up in my package! I look up into the sky and wonder all the time! I think it would be totally fantastic if we could all wonder together without animosity, but that is unlikely to happen with the gazillion different opinions about all things spiritual in the world of homo sapiens.
just my opinion, you can disagree with it if you want to. I won't have any animosity, I'll just cry myself to sleep!

One doesn't have to be religious to be spiritual. Indeed the history of many religions is that as they become less and less spiritual en masse truly spiritual people look elsewhere...
Once, Christianity had a very different take on spirituality & God. Its vision was infinitely prismatic... But over the centuries it has become more and more rigid, less mystical and more oppressive, both spiritually and temporally.
Hence its decline...
Find your vision where you want to...

When you shake your fist in the face of the universe and demand the truth, you get it. It won't be what you want to hear usually, but at least your fears will be erased and you will have a new determination in life.(twinkle..sheen...sparkle)

I think you should stray from Atheism and become a little more spiritual. Look into being Agnostic, or Pantheism. Those are wonderful alternatives to the bullshit that is Christianity.

I really believe many find god because we seem so completely insignifigant in the universe we live in and the time scale we occupy in the history of that universe.

Questioning your beliefs is a good thing. It allows you to keep some perspective on your views. Atheists that refuse to question their beliefs are just as ignorant as the fundies.

if your feeling there is some greater Supernatural force out there...then i agree, you stink at being an atheist.
if your feeling there's is some NATURAL force out there...then your a normal human...and that would include being atheistic.
and yes, lets wonder, perhaps even investigate, and perhaps even learn something.
