What you need to be doubting is the idea you have been given about a God that is not smart enough or loving enough to have come up with a plan to get each and every soul safely back home to Him.
Think about it. How likely is that?

If your salvation was all about you, then I don't know what you're going to do about your problem. If the salvation was all about God, and His work in you, then you'll realize who you are before the Lord and just what Jesus did in bringing you back from where you were. Time to start digging in to the Bible. Maybe get into a Bible study or a class at church for new Christians. You have a lot to learn, best get started. As for the doubt -- get off your "butt" and start doing something about it.

What does saved really mean? Is it a lifestyle or a mindset? I did that when I was 7 years old out of pressure from a sweet grandmother at a church. After decades of life, I now realize it is not as important as going through the ritual of asking Jesus into your heart as earnestly going through the process of loving Him and modifying your lifestyle--that takes decades of life--not just a statement at a camp, worship group or church. A wise Christian will tell you that--saved is a term--your heart and mindset is a lifetime of work.

If you really believe that Jesus, a guy dead for over 2000 years, who wasn't thought to be devine until 400 years after his death, who never claimed to be devine during his lifetime can somehow save you (by the way, save you from what?), then you should be just fine.
But consider these two things: Just like another poster said: If god is all powerful and god is loving and cares about each person and each soul, why would he make some people such that they cannot do what it takes to be saved? And before you say 'god gave them free will', tell me why he would give them free will that would mean that he is going to let some of them go to hell despite his love and utter power.
Also, consider the case of Mother Theresa. A good person? Most thinks so. She went to her grave feeling only emptiness and lonliness in her search for Jesus. If she could not be 'saved', who can be?
Be good, act justly, learn what you can and communicate with others-especially those with differing views and you will probably be just fine.

Only God knows for sure, but knowing that you are saved doesn't come from a feeling that you are saved but from trusting what the Bible teaches. Click on the Get Saved button @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/ for a more detailed explanation.

If you believe that Jesus died for your sins, and you've confessed your sins to him, then yes, you are saved! Congratulations! I'm praying for your continued growth and peace.

It's great that you've taken this step, Chad. Doubt is normal, and believing that Jesus is Lord is everything! Don't let anyone tell you different.
