But didn't Jesus taught that do unto others as you would unto yourself? So if he doesn't save the rest of us that means you will not be save?

My son and I were discussing the dates for his football games over the coming season. Suddenly he pipes up and says,
"why is Jesus' birthday always on Dec 25th but the day he died on the cross changes every year?"
"Good question." I said, "I have know idea, but I bet I can find someone who does know!"
So, does anyone out there know the answer?

The christian God required animal sacrifices in the old testament, BLOOD, and he was pleased with burnt offerings.
(READ THE BIBLE IS ALL THERE)
Then in the new testament he decided to kill himself, to show his love, ONLY TROUGH BLOOD HE COULD FORGIVE, IN HIS IMMENSE POWER NOTHING ELSE COULD WORK, IT HAD TO BE BLOOD!!!!
After he killed himself, he forgive us of our sins, however , and here is the catch, you need to BELIEVE in this nonsense, if you do not believe you will be sent in a hell, to suffer , for all eternity.
BUT REMEMBER he loves you!!!! there is nothing he can do, you must accept this belief or get tortured!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahh, Christianity is so logic, it makes so much sense!!
How can you not see that?

like right now I am inundated with continual problems and getting rejection and everyone is being critical, rejecting, and very mean..there is no support..I am feeling lack of love, concern, and respect from recently deceased mom, all my siblings, my sons, the neighbors are bring inconsiderate and starting vicious untrue rumors, and acquaintenances are not caring much at all that I am suffering.

I am a pretty nice person having been told by hundreds I am nice, sweet,. kindhearted with a heart of gold. Are these things punishments from god for some reason..or is he wanting me to only turn to Him..it is causing me to hate people as they have been very mean and selfish lately and everyone keeps yelling at me..I am feeling like life is not worth it but I keep on living,,how can I have joy and happiness in the midst of so many problems..please advise me how to handle this and rise above it and tell me are times like these common?

At church last Sunday- I was at the pulpit reading text from the Bible before the pastor's sermon. Suddenly- I farted loudly and smelly unexpectedly. The fart rumbled and echoed in the church. What do you think the people thought of it? Nobody said anything. I'm 19.

going to be raptured instead be left behind? I say while we have breath in out bodies repent as God will forgive us. And that is awsome, knowing we are all sinners and a fall short everyday that if we ask God will forgive if we mean it. That is sooooooo awsome. Who on here what do do more for God than what you do? God says just come as you are and that is true love. Who is looking forward to the soon rapture? I am so much. God bless

I was raised Catholic, but it never fit right for me. I don't believe in confession; doesn't seem right that God can hear my every prayer, but someone else needs to hear everything wrong I've done. I don't believe that the Bible is literally the direct text spoken by God. It's been hand written over many languages for centuries and by politically motivated figures many times. I do beleive that the Bible is a very important text, it has stories that should guide us all in a life of moral strength. I don't support the split in religion and science, I think the formation of the universe (big bang) and evolution are correct, but are the work of God. So is there any religion/denomination out there that holds similar beleifs? And if you don't agree with 100% of everything in your faith, does that make it wrong or hippocritical to practice that faith?

Too many people claim that "proof" for evolution must be taken on faith alone.

Would these people assume that a forensics report must be taken on faith alone? Would they ignore the evidence given by the experts and just accept that the result was correct?

For example, if they were told that a hair belonged to a particular person would they just accept that on faith or would the fact that the forensics expert had studied it and deduced, based on the evidence, that it came from said particular person, have any relevance to their acceptance of the information?

How many people do you think would still go to church if they took down all the Andy Gibbs looking Jesus depictions, and put up more historically correct Jesus'; a middle eastern looking man?

World.

Specially when all info about Usama Bin Laden is totally one sided, and we don't know the truth, unless we listen other side of the story.

We Muslims are supposed to let confirm the info. before believing it as true.

Unless that time I believe He is innocent, Do you agree with me.

As I don't trust Bush'ism, as true and sincere with the humanity.
USA seems trading on the name of Bin Laden, specially keeping him as alive, earning money from friends and its enemies. By creating a situation of threat and fear, so that Americans pay whatever the price might be, to be save from so called land mark of fear.

I was raised in the church, after which I started to question a lot about religion. Why god would pick just one, I took jobs that put me up close and personal with human suffering. Now, I have a daughter that is going to church with her father. (we are split) She told me from the back seat that I needed Jesus in my heart to go to heaven. The same thing I was exposed to as a child, the concept of heaven and hell. Trust me, it did not do me any favors growing up.
I ran across this quote from a book tonight..
I am now convinced that children should not be subjected to the frightfulness of the Christian religion. ... If the concept of a father who plots to have his own son put to death is presented to children as beautiful and as worthy of society's admiration, what types of human behavior can be presented to them as reprehensible?”

I want to believe but somehow it does not make sense anymore.

Can you prove, WITHOUT the use of carbon dating or any other scientific method that the texts of the New Testament weren't written in the fifteenth century? when the first published copy of the bible(latin vulgate) 1450-1456 were printed on the Gutenburg press? Can you prove that any of the scrolls and texts and contemporary accounts weren't created in mass at that time? And that modern scholars aren't just lying about the ages of the scrolls? Sure the bible lists historical events but who is to say that the people couldnt write any of that in 1456? if you say Josephus or the council of nicea or any other contemporary source PROVE without carbon dating that they were written anytime before the 1400's. Remember you can't use science in anyway for this challenge. prove that any of these writings weren't produced at the same time with a "Past tense narrative".
Note: you cannot use the bible to prove the bible.

When you get to the entrance of Heaven God asks you...

"In 5 words, why should I let you into Heaven"?

What would your answer be?

Couldn't he just have done it himself like he did do many other times? I have found so many verses in which god commits murder or "commands" others to do it for him. And in most verses he wants the children to be brutally murdered as well. If this was to make us fear his power, why would anyone want to love or worship something out of fear? Its like he says, love me or I will kill your family. That doesn't seem very god like at all.
