Yes, I know there are, but I'm drawing a blank and can't remember any user names.

Oh, and Crow James, you're obviously a fan of the Crow film, are you a fan of the comic, too?

Oh certainly, there are quite a few who can provide a cogent and respectful understanding of their position and do really understand the implications of that position. And, some are funny. The ability to laugh at oneself implies they are self-reflective. It is quite possible to coherently hold the Christian perspective in a manner the apostles would have respected and which makes sense in the modern world, given all the new things we now know, such as the Sun being at the center of the solar system and the solar system being at the edge of the galaxy and the galaxy being non-central to the universe. They do have a sense of the majesty and awe of the Universe.

It is precisely this awe which permits them to believe in a God. They hold a deep sense of mystery and intelligently operate in the world. They are aware of the deficits in their position, but can work with them.

First off what is this "R/S" email me telling me. But anyway, listen believers and non-believers. Enigma is right, but for those that downtalk the non and the believers it's wrong. We do sometimes come on strong and that is because we don't want you to end up in hell, even though you don't believe. Atleast try and think about were we are coming from, as we should do the same. I don't hate anyone because that is not a teaching of Jesus. Although sometimes we get angry and get inticed by others so yes we must be careful. Sorry for any offences to anyone.

Sure.... as a 'believer' 'born again christian'...i have and have had friends who claim to be athiest. I do respect these people... as well as all people in this life we live here on earth - (be they the drunk laying on the street in the downtown of the city or the man who apprars to have his life all together). Becoming born again- saved by the grace and mercy of Christ while i was yet a sinner... and still am, something that I did receive from Him has been a compassion to any man/woman who has not yet taken the tme to meet Christ /God/ Holy Spirit, who died also for their own sin. All it takes is reading a bit... an open heart and being open to the Jesus as a truth who died on the cross for sin of every man/woman... as the last and final lamb slin for the forgiveness of sin. Just pray to find out... your heart will know the truth... dont harden it to this truth... His arms are wide open... SO, as Christ respected each man while even a sinner... so do I... I am not perfect as a Christian... but I am covered thru even my sinfull nature which I try my very best to follow the footsteps of Jesus. Sometimes I even break down and cry for those who have not yet met or allowed themselves to face up to Christ. I only feel saddened.

I do not personally know anyone here. I try to be respectful of all mankind. I love you all. I am christian and do not hate those who do not see things the way I do. I just try to help them understand my beliefs. We all chose what to believe on our own. I do apologize if sometimes I lose patients. I am still working on that one :)

I'm a Christian, and one of my best friends is an atheist. I wouldn't discriminate ANYONE for their religion. In the Bible, it says that everyone is equal, and thats how I see it. Nobody should be judged on religion alone...there are some GREAT people out there that are non-believers/believers!!

Yeah, of course. It's just the ones that shame themselves with ignorance and stupidity that I have no respect for. And this goes for people of any line of faith or lack thereof.

I pass by most of the Fundies, but I am naturally drawn to the posters who are funny, humorous, witty, or seem to bear something in common with me personally. For example, there's a chap here from Georgia, where I was born and grew up--I've been a New Yorker for a disastrously long time. And a Brit whose wry humor appeals to me, and others who bring a laugh or a smile. The people who cut-and-paste long, long, long babblings merely annoy me (I roll on by). I usually stop for kids who seem to be asking for fatherly advice but not always. I seem not to have a taste for whining, for Fundies who think they are being persecuted, for bigots and racists, for anti-Semites who babble on against Jews or Arabs, and for the sad Fundies who attack Catholics and Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses again and again.

I like how open everyone is, minus the bashing. I have respect for all people even for nonbelievers, they are human too.
