During the days of the Holy Grail Europeans tried to make Jesus be displaced nobility.
Now Americans try to make him sound like a suburban Middle Class kid of a businessman.
Once back when I attended church services the minister actually went on a free association spiel about what he thought life was like for Jesus growing up. He got teary eyed as he spoke of Jesus coming from "School" and helping out in his fathers "Workshop" that was behind his store!
Clueless, I'm not kidding.
The only people I see in America that are close to the same class as Jesus of 2000 years ago stand in front of "Home Depot" asking people for work.
The translation of "carpenter" should be "one who works with their hands."
Even if the Jesus in the Bible was word for word correct the misconceptions about the man would still make him a mythology.
I say all this with intense "Love" for the man Jesus the confused people who worship him and the Christ Spirit which Jesus made known so long ago.
Love one another.

I'm quite sure it would make absolutely NO DIFFERENCE.
If you hear a song once on the radio, you might say I hate that song. If you hear the same song everyday for 18 years, then you stop hearing you not only miss it, you hear later songs and you say things like, "songs today can't match the songs of yesterday, especially THAT song."
Images like Andy Gibb weren't always considered pleasing to the eye. We learn to like what we think about most.

Well i know it wouldn't make me not believe in God or go to church any more or less. Interesting question though. It would be the same scenario with Christmas . Would people get as excited over Santa Claus as much if Santa was middle eastern or African American?

Pictures of Jesus don`t matter, the Bible didn`t describe Jesus, it`s just irrelevant, people who go to church ( or where I live) go either because they truly believe (rare) or to appear going to church and look christian (common). Not all christians go to church anyway, it `s not that big as people make it up to be.

I for one would not stop believing in my Jesus, because I already know that He is not a white man, like most pictures show Him to be. †

I, and I am sure I can speak for my whole family as well as most Christians I know, couldn't care less what he looked like. What matters is what he said and did.
