I asked a previous question to this but people wanted more info. Here's the article-- http://www.wtov9.com/news/14047414/detail.html#

Now this woman who left a 2 year old child in her car for eight hours (and the kid died) is not going to get any type of punishment. "Union Township police released security camera video on Tuesday that showed that Nesselroad-Slaby returned to the SUV five times during the day, and once moved the SUV to another location in the parking lot." So first, this woman had ample time to notice. Second, she has done this multiple times before-- it wasn't a one-time thing.

She's not getting prosecuted, not even for negligence, child endangerment, or negligent death. I understand she's a mother and losing her child is horrible and she's suffered...but that baby suffered a lot more than she has.

So what do you think about this? Should the law care more about it? Should she get prosecuted? Why or why not? And lastly, please state what religion you are.

Yes, "afterlife", and not Heaven or Nirvana or wherever... just the afterlife. Do you think that all races and religions will meet each other underneath the stars? Will everyone be free of disabilities and disformations? Will we all be blind and deaf to evils? What do you think?

And please, no "it doesn't exist!" comments. I prefer to think that my mind and soul will live on somehow, somewhere, and nothing is going to change that.

Keep in mind that this is purely hypothetical.

If God came down from heaven, and told you that Jesus was not his, and that Judaism was the correct religion, what would you do?

I am trying to learn more about Islam, so far i have two very differnt translations of the Quran. (and i am not too impressed with Sam Harris's verbatim quoting of one with a rather low reputation)

Are there any differences in which versions are preffered by different groups?

I pray to God, and nothing happens. I curse at God, and nothing happens. Likewise with Bob... so how is God more real than him?

I heard that if you drop a bible on Mars God will appear and create a new civilization. The new civilization will be equipped for life on the planet, just like humans are equipped for life on Earth.

Do you think this would cause wars between the two planets?

Any thing you would like to say about this theory?

I just heard a couple of people here and there saying that they "swear on my life", or "swear on everything I love". If they break that swear is that like a sin, or does it mean eternal damnation or something? (From a christian point of view)

I think if they lived a good life they will go just as anyone else.
I could be wrong but think about it we are good through the fear of God and the Salvation of Jesus.

But if an Athiest is a good person they are doing it on their own and rae just a genuine good person so I don't see why they would'nt go to Heavan I think they do.

If you're good because you think God is watching you, or because of the promise of heaven or the threat of hell, then that is self-interest, not morality. If you would be good anyway, without those motivators, then you don't need God in order to be good.

Either way, morality has nothing to do with God. Agreed?

How come they went from supporting slavery to opposing it? According to the Bible (both "Old" and "New" testaments), there's nothing wrong with slavery... the Jews owned slaves, and so did the Christians in late Roman times and early America (Paul tells the slavemasters not to be cruel to slaves, but never says they may not HAVE slaves!) Now, either slavery is morally wrong, or it isn't. If it is morally o.k. as per the Bible, then the Civil War was fought for nothing. But if it is morally wrong (and it IS), then it was just as wrong back then as it is right now! There's no getting around it... Apparenty the God of the Bible made sure to include verses about the evils of eating pork, but couldn't be bothered to outlaw slavery...
