Isn't it interesting how far religious people will go to protect their fairy tales from the scrutiny of the most intelligent members of the human race.

No peace with religion.

Since someone already quoted Sagan (my hero) I will then quote one of my heroines.

"Christianity is most admirably adapted to the training of slaves, to the perpetuation of a slave society; in short, to the very conditions confronting us to-day.The rulers of the earth have realized long ago what potent poison inheres in the Christian religion. That is the reason they foster it; that is why they leave nothing undone to instill it into the blood of the people. They know only too well that the subtleness of the Christian teachings is a more powerful protection against rebellion and discontent than the club or the gun."

Yes, I'm sure Gandhi is in hell. That would make a lot of sense for a religion whose god is truly wise. Send one of the most peaceful men on the planet ever to burn for all of eternity. What a good idea.

If that is true chances are everyone who posted on this board will be right there in hell with him.

Those people are going to hell? But people like Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, David Berkowitz, Charles Watson and Susan Atkins are in heaven because they accepted Christ? I have to tell you, I would rather be in hell with the Asker's list than in heaven with the people I mentioned. I love pointing out some Christian's idiocy to prove a point.

I have lots of sites with atheist quotes. I could probably add to that

"I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But as much as I want to believe that, and despite the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking." - Carl Sagan,

No, I'm not, really. I'm not anti-Christian or anti-religion. I just don't choose to participate.

I don't fault the message, but the messenger that has to spread mean-spirited stuff like this. You obviously have a problem with your relationship (or lack thereof) with God and Jesus, but that doesn't grant you free license to pick on or needlessly attack people's faith for fun and passing time. Maybe you need to get a life.

To have strength in your arguement, you must know both sides of the story. Sadly religion isn't a weapon although I know so many who wish it were.

"Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants." (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)

I love using bible quotes to prove my point.

Do you know that even though you may not have "said" these things, you are just as much accountable because you are spreading it around.

Oooh, good one CJ! I can give you a list of good quotes for Christianity, but not from famous people. What difference does it make? If they are famous we are supposed to believe them? Hogwash. They don't sound quite so smart to me anymore. Thanks!
