HI, Suzzy:
Jesus said that where there was light, there was sin. This tells me that God has many people who have never heard the truth, yet have live according to the dictates of the Holy Spirit.
Paul tells us that the unbelievers without the law live according to the law. Yes, there will be people who never had a missionary to talk to that will be in heaven.
But there is a time, and now is, that God calls everyone to repent. That's found in Acts 17:30 "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent."
God says you can find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Many don't look for God because they are inherently selfish and feel they will have to live a Godly lifestyle here. How sad! There is nothing better than living the heavenly lifestyle here and renouncing the wickedness of the world.
Jesus says of the saved: "The kingdom of God is within you." And you must live it here before being allowed into the perfection of God.
Some have made a horrible example of what God requires, and for them, they have caused the way of God to be evil spoken of. These will not be allowed into heaven either. Because of them, many do not believe, but God has hidden a Bible code that reveals His plan to save this world. You need read it at http://abiblecode.tripod.com
Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

Suzzy it is faith, and God's grace that gains you entrance into His kingdom.
Your faith in His salvation, Jesus of Nazareth, and His grace that brings you into His Kingdom.
All the good of a righteous man is nothing but dirty rags in God's face! Compared to God, what is good?
No I don't think an atheist will. He has the opportunity every day to go to God and yet he denies God? Will God not deny him? Or her?
It's here and now that you make those decisions because no man or woman in the grave can do that!
One thing that bothers me a bit is that people don't seem to understand .....when we go to God we do so on His terms. We do not go to God on our terms. He is God! He sets the terms and they are very few and simple. Read, study, and obey the ten commandments and have faith in God! Simple ...it isn't easy.

When I was young I could not understand how a person who was good went to hell, because the were the wrong religion or no religion. I still feel this way.
To deny something, We would have to believe that this is true. We know no such thing and so we do not deny him. We have no belief.

Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow.
Revelation 14:7
He said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water."
Matthew 7:21
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Acts 16:30-31
He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:10
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

the biggest issue that your fellow Christians will have with this thought process, is that the WHOLE faith is based on believing that Jesus the Christ is the ONLY way. So for Christians to say Atheist could get into heaven would blow that whole Belief system to Hell.

No, Atheists deny God, and therefore deny any real sense of goodness. You can live a "good life" without God, but when you actually know what it means to be good, you'll wonder how you thought you were good without Him.
Atheists are going to Hell, by their own volition.

If you don't believe that God exist, how can you go to the place where He reigns for eternity, even though Christian's have Him in the hearts, true Christians i.e. In order to be in Heaven for eternity, you must accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, if you don't do that (in this lifetime) there is no way that a person can be saved. Our goodness even as Christians is not good enough, please don't think that, it is the Holy Spirit that dwells in our hearts that justifies us, humanness alone is never, ever good enough.

Thanks for acknowledging than not all atheists are evil. And your idea that your heaven would accept anyone.
Unfortunatley, the christian religion has made it clear it does not work this way. So don't tell your friends, they may not agree, and might even think you are rather odd.
I'm an atheist, I don't believe in heaven or hell. So I don't think I will go to either.

There is only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. Atheists do not believe in God so they probably do not believe in heaven either and just as well they won't miss what they don't believe in.

I think many atheists would disagree with you, but I applaud you for noting that many are good decent people living good decent lives. That's a fact too often glossed over here on R&S.
