Couldn't he just have done it himself like he did do many other times? I have found so many verses in which god commits murder or "commands" others to do it for him. And in most verses he wants the children to be brutally murdered as well. If this was to make us fear his power, why would anyone want to love or worship something out of fear? Its like he says, love me or I will kill your family. That doesn't seem very god like at all.

Cleopatra, you are a fool! What kind of "christian" are you to not even know or comprehend your own holy book? If the verses of the old testament are fake, then they are fake as the god you believe in.

"Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)" "Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows.(Isaiah 13:15-18 NLT)"This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Strap on your swords! Go back and forth from one end of the camp to the other, killing even your brothers, friends, and neighbors."(Exodus 32:26-29 NLT)

The true heart and mind of God was revealed by Jesus Christ. The God of the Old Testament was how the Jews perceived him. We should not take the stories in the Old Testament at face value. If there is any contradiction between Old and New Testament passages the New Testament passage always prevails.

The old world was totally absent of grace and dedicated to opposing God. It was like hell on earth, and a technical state of war existed between God, on one side, and satan, along with man, on the other.

When God raised up the chosen people in order to eventually bring the Messiah into the world, the warfare became even more intense.

The universal penalty for sin is death, and since all men share in original sin, all men (even babies and women) are subject to it.

Those who opposed the Israelites opposed the will of God, which is a sin ... and they also worshipped demons ... which is also a sin.

There's good biblical evidence to suggest that some of those who were destroyed were actually the offspring of demons, and they had to be eliminated if mankind was to someday be redeemed.

Otherwise, we would all still be hopelessly enslaved to Satan, sin, and death, and all would be lost.

It is a trust issue for why he had others kill. He said do this and the battle is yours because I will give it to you, then he made ridiculous restrictions of how the Hebrew army would conduct itself for the operation. This was to show that it was only with God that they could win the battle and remind the people that he is real.

As to why he told them to kill, the Israelites were living in an area that was profoundly hostile to them and so it was protection and to carve out a home. These people living there were so set in their ways that if they were not wiped out then they would unite and attack the people of God and attempt to wipe them out. It was a case of trying to win the current war and all the future wars at the same time.

My God never did tell his children to kill. In the KJV that was the god of Moses. I don't worship him although I know he exists. His name is YA. The god of the Egyptians of the time was RA. Moses was a classically trained Egyptian general who fell into disrepute with the Royal family of the time.

Not a single person answered you. They hid behind babble and mumbo jumbo. There were no clear answers in there anywhere. You know why? Because they don't have a clue! They just want to believe God is all about sunshine and roses, so they question nothing and know nothing! You can't ever get a straight answer, and when you try to get them to listen to something that doesn't make much sense, they are like children who put their fingers in their ears and wail:

"I can't hear yooooooou LA LA LA LA LA"

For a child or a woman to die of starvation is much worse than to be killed by a sword.

If you don't believe in God why do you spend so much time studying His word?

If you do then why do you question Him?

If I can see your confusion then why can't you?
Just resist all these questions the devil places in your head and b still and know that He is God. He hasn't killed you or I right?
