If making any creature feel pain is a sin, physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise, there will be an awful lot of explaining to do on Judgment Day. What about plants? Do they feel pain? Do plants enjoy being eaten?
I don't know about you, but I can't fully comprehend a God that gives us nutritional requirements and then punishes us for fulfilling them. I tried the vegetarian diet several times...always with the same result: loss of sleep and nervous disorders, even when I took B-vitamin supplements. Nothing seems to alleviate the symptoms better than an occasional serving of beef or lamb. (Poultry and fish don't work as well as beef and lamb do.)
I was not raised as a Vegan, and I have no desire to try it again. Besides, does God punish carnivorous animals for being what they were created to be? Why would people be expected to act differently from animals, and suffer on account of their own needs?
Of course animals feel pain! (and fear, and joy, and all the other emotions). They mourn the loss of mates and young ones. Birds even mourn the loss of their eggs! The mistreatment of animals is right up there with the mistreatment of people...

I believe every life force feels pain. I mean we eat cows , chickens, goats, plants and other life forms. So in order to stay alive I don't consider those things a sin. Sin is just religious teachings. Eating came before religion and the thought of "Sins". T-REx and dinosaurs been eating things way before the bible came out. but if your going around poking everything with a stick its just waste of time and you could be doing other things with your life lol. but no if you make your pet dog feel pain he might bite you and see if you feel pain :D

Of course animals feel pain.
Also plants have been shown to respond to being broken or cut, indicating that at some level there is a response to that damage.
Which , could also be considered to be pain.
But if we don't eat meat or vegtables, then what is our future.
While we of course must eat , and therefore destroy animals and plants for food , that isn't an excuse for treating these things with disrespect.
When killing an animal it should be done in a kind way , not tormenting the animal , as this shows respect for the provision of food from God.

Of course, Animal do feel pain. All living creature must feel pain. But if we believe science then even plants are living.
Whether its sin or not depend on what religion you are following. As far as I know, killing animals is sin in just one religion- Jains(one minor religion living in india). However, hurting or making some animal feel pain without any valid reason must be sin in almost all relgions. You may kill/hurt an animal if its harmful for you not otherwise.

It is a sin to hurt any animal with cruel intent.
I am with Pangel. I cannot believe some of these answers.
If you kick my pet, I will call the police.
Of COURSE animals feel pain!
Only a sick, deranged person would cruelly cause an animal to feel pain.
When an animal is hurt or injured, a vet HAS to cause pain to help the animal heal, but to hurt an innocent animal for "fun" is sick and disgusting.

Yes, love, animals feel pain. Is it a 'sin' to make something feel pain? I'm a vegetarian for several reasons--that is one. I am also a humanist and an atheist, which is to say, the concept of 'sin' doesn't enter into it.

The God Yahweh instructed mankind about what animals and other living creatures He would allow us to kill, butcher, cook and eat. They are listed by The God Yahweh Himself in Leviticus chapter 11.The God Yahweh created the human species and knew that eating the meat of curtain species of animals would be required to maintain proper nutrition and health in the human body. So even though the animal may feel pain the God Yahweh says it's OK and not a sin to kill and eat it. In reality it would be a sin to the God Yahweh to either not eat the animals the God Yahweh allows us to eat or to eat the animals the God Yahweh tells us not to eat as a food product for health reasons.

Yes, of course those animals feel pain....they have brains, nerves, and personalities.
As far as sin, I don't know. Morally it's wrong to make anything feel pain, so yes, I'd say that's a sin if that's what you believe.
