Everyone has to live by some principles one way or the other. There's no harm in following someone that teaches good will and faith in the creator. I know a lot of "Christians" who let everyone knows how Jesus is Lord but really has a lot of dirt underneath.
You can't deny the fact the millions of lives have been changed by following Jesus but I can say the same about other philosophies in life like (Buddhism, Islam among many). You need to find what you truly believe in and developed principles that will bring you and the people around you good.
Praying to the Almighty will give you the opportunity you're searching for. Historically speaking, no one can deny that Jesus lived and taught something radical. A teaching not bounded in time and can be applied in every generation. Do some reading on it.

Trusting in Jesus Christ is the way to everlasting life, read john 3:16...this is the answer you need , if anyone says you can trust in yourself then you will be lost in the darkness of hell. He said confess your sins and repent and beleive in God, through the work of christ on the cross and you shall be saved...All my prayers for you and those here in this chat room who try to find the wrong way to peace..

With all due respect to "B" above, the answer is a definite YES !
John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son , so that whoever believes in Him (JESUS) will have everlasting life".
JESUS himself said (in John 14:6) "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me."

Only if that trusting is enough to make you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Romans 10:10 "For with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation."

No one lives forever and vampires aren't an exception either ,maybe a thousand years from now medical science will have solved the idea but many don't even want it.

"You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."
