The most curious social convention of the great age in which we live is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected.

Jehovah doesn't need us to defend Him. He never asks us to...just to confess His name before men so that He can confess yours before the Father. It was known in Psalms 22 by prophecy of David what would occur with His Crucifixion and torture....how He would be mocked and treated. That anyone can scoff or mock the idea of one person giving their life for another just shows you how cold, dull and spiritless people are becoming. Hatred and spite seem to the be order of the day. I wonder though, if atheism frees people so much and the bible is just a story...then why are they prone to such disgust and derision? I think it is because they are promted by demons they don't even believe in and as Jesus said looking down on them....forgive them, Father, they know not what they do. I wish they would at least be respectful but they are not...and nothing can be said or done to change it. So focus on other things...Love in Christ, ~J~

Knowing that Jesus was the God the Son, tortured to death for telling the truth, no, of course I would not gamble for his clothing.
But recall that Jesus prayed for these soldiers, asking, "Father, forgive them--they don't know what they were doing." They didn't persecute Jesus, arrange a cowardly travesty of justice, or condemn him. They simply did their assigned task as Roman soldiers. They didn't know Jesus from the robbers crucified on either side of him.
Those who insult Jesus today do something worse. They know at least something about Jesus. They know that he was a healer, a man who welcomed outcasts. They know that he defended the poor and opposed the legalists who imposed heavy burdens they wouldn't lift themselves. They know he was an innocent man, put to death for telling the truth.
Cheers,
Bruce

Of course not but not because I need to earn my way into his graces. Seems to me, by dying for me he has already given me the greatest gift. It's a complete circle of love. Jesus gave his life (he knew it was coming) because of the love he had for us and his father's wishes. The very least I can do is start my day with a prayer of thanks and a request for help to somehow be a blessing to someone today.

Even as Christian I know that I sin against my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ every day, so I am no better than the soldiers at the foot of the cross. Were I am different at is that I believe Jesus was the son of God that came to earth to redeem us to God and wash away my sins and yours, I have accepted him as my Lord and Saviour and His Holy Spirit lives within me. As Christians we must ask for forgiveness everyday for our sins, and if we are believers, he washes us white as snow. Isaiah 1:18.

Fictional characters, even from bronze age middle eastern goat herders fairy tales are just that dear: Fictional. It is delusional to believe that they existed or did anything special for you. They are just creations of imaginations.
Perhaps you can talk to a psychiatrist that will help you treat those delusions. Zyprexa (use only as directed) is quite helpful in many cases.

No because a) I don't believe there was an actual/literal Jesus Christ, and b) even if there was, I wouldn't want to wear another person's clothes, especially not a guy's clothes. Sorry, but I like feminine clothes. :)
