Heart/head? And when do you think it comes about? Do we have a soul when we are born or is it something we need to develop? Where does it go when we die?

Neither. It permeates your very being. It is both part of and apart from your physical being. In my belief, the soul is with you from birth (you are ensouled in the womb) and you live many lives in order to learn.

The soul doesn't exist. It's just an idea dreamt up to explain personal feelings of "self" to people who don't understand bio-chemical process and how the hardwired neurons in each persons brain are the only things which determine who "you" are.
Once the electric charge in your brain goes, and the neurons start to breakdown, all that you ever where goes with it.

Some people find this thought a bit sad, but I prefer to think of it as making the brief existence we all have that bit more special.

Also, why would it be in the heart anyway? Surely even woolly-minded types know that the heart isn't ACTUALLY where love comes from? It just pumps blood, and isn't at all glamorous!! Plus, what happens when you get a heart transplant!! Do you believe the soul would be transferred!!!?

The Soul is in between the outer Body and the innermost Spirit. The Soul is the non corporeal just like the spirit.
We are all born with the Soul and in fact are all geniuses if we are left alone to know God without the corrupting influences of the outside knowledge of men derived from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. We would have been taught by God and know all things without having to go to school. But the world system would not allowed us to do that. In some countries its a crime not to be schooled.

The soul can never dies - it is eternal . When the body dies, the soul lives on either eternally in Hell or in Heaven as God tells us in His Word; They that believes will never die and they that believe not are already dead.

Dying got nothing to do with the physical body but have a lot to do with the soul.

Ponder on it!

Wow, you've hit upon a question that has boggled philosophers for years. My definition is a little different than most. First off I would think that we have a spirit and a body. When the body dies the spirit leaves it. While living, the spirit is wearing the body like a glove. When the two are together you get your soul. The soul is the very essence that is you. It is the combination of the said spirit and body.

The soul travels around. It used to be in the spleen. Then the heart, never in the head.
I have said, for a long time, my soul belongs to India - it's where I feel most at home. My heart belongs to the Kurds, with whom I have more emotional connections.
I am English with Celt ancestry.

Considering the fact that the human body is composed of atoms, and atoms are essentially empty space, we can surmise that the soul or spirit occupies that otherwise "empty" space.

When the body dies, the soul returns to God.

At the end of this present age, on Judgment Day, God will recreate brand new resurrection bodies to go with all the souls, match them all up, and then get on with his plan ... whatever that might be.

To me the soul would be the most difficult thing for an evolutionists to explain. Even if all the physical parts of creation evolved, where did the human soul develop from?
It is an immaterial thing, and according to the Bible it seems to be a touching of the spirit in man, which came from the breath of God at creation, and the physical body which came from the dust of the ground. It produces a immateral being which can think, feel, and make decisions. I am inclined to think that at death it would cease to exist for the believer in God, (Because sin dwells in the soul of man, not in the spirit) whose spirit ascends to heaven, but continue to exist for the unbeliever who will be put into hell with his soul.

The Bible is very clear about the soul.

When created ¨God blew into Adams nostrils and he became a living soul¨

A soul wasn't given to Adam , a soul didn't leave Adam when he died.

The Bible is clear , a soul is a living person.

Ezekiel 18:4 ¨---the soul that is sinning -it itself will die¨

As shown here , the soul isn't some immortal creature that floats away after death.

When a man dies , his soul (or complete being) is dead.

The soul is a myth designed before modern science. You have a unique personality but so do some animals. When you die it is like a light bulb going out, it cuts off. Just my opinion, I didn't part any sea though or walk on water!

The soul is a man-made construct, it doesn't exist, except in the mind of the believer.
