I have been studying for awhile whether or not God is one, or three in one.
It is my conclusion that God is one God, not three in one. What is my rationale?

In the OT the FIRST commandment given by God was,
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD. (Deut 6:4)
I then looked at the New Testament, and read when Jesus Re-itereated this statement.
"And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord"
(Mark 12:29)

Moreover, I then looked up the word one in both Hebrew and Greek.

Hebrew: 'echad: one (number)
a) one (number)
b) each, every
c) a certain
d) an (indefinite article)
e) only, once, once for all

The Greek: emphatically,
(a) a single ("one"), to the exclusion of others, e.g., Mat 21:24; Rom 3:10; 1Cr 9:24; 1Ti 2:5 (twice);
(b) "one, alone," e.g., Mar 2:7, RV (AV, "only")

My question then is, why would Jesus say one to the exlusion of others, and not include himself?
لااله الا الله

Dear Brother

Good Question Brother!!!

Let us Logically analyze the poosibility of having two Gods.

Leave alone God, consider President of a country in our own world. Canthere be a Peace and Good administration, if there are more than one Presidents of a country equal in powers?

Leave alone God, what if there are two husbands to a wife, can she live in peace in harmoney? (I apologize to my sisters)

Similarly, Can there be two Administrators in an Organization?

Of course Hindus have hundreds of Gods, but they are all with different powers and assignments, so their Religion is still surviving.

In Islam, the best answer in this regard is the Saying of God Allah Himself in the book Holy Quran says:

2:163. And your Allah is One Allah. There is no God but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

21:22. If there were, in the heavens and the earth, other gods besides Allah, there would have been confusion in both! but glory to Allah, the Lord of the Throne: (High is He) above what they attribute to Him!

Hi and good morning....One must understand that each individual has their own way of reasoning on this particular issue. This is how I interpret...God is One..He is the Alpha and the Omega..The First and The Last...He is the Almighty. Jesus is God's son. His only Begotten Son...Then we have the 'Holy Spirit' which some believe is the spirit within us that believe in God some believe in other views about the 'Holy Spirit. Now I'm still confused on the 'Holy Spirit' and I'm still trying to find answers on what exactly is the 'Holy Spirit' and what it pertains too. In the trinity it shows God, His son and the Holy Ghost or the Holy Spirit. Some believe that they signify all as one I look upon them as separate sources. The Father which is God...Jesus which is God's son then the Holy Ghost. Jesus was within God..Which to me means Jesus was like His Father. Realistically speaking Jesus would have been half mortal and half Godlike since His Father was God and his mother was the Virgin Mary who was mortal. This is how I myself interpret these things that were written. I might have different views that what others might believe. Have a blessed day!

Jesus said ," i dont speak my own words but the words of my father who is in heaven" . This shows his oneness with God. And also he says," that when I go, " I will ask The Father to send you another counsellor, One who will lead you into all truth, He is the Holy Spirit". Showing the oneness of the Holy Spirit.
So if Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father and is our high priest, who brings all our requests to God and the Holy Spirit is called the worker of God, then it shows clearly that the three are as one, and each part has his own duty.

Didn't Jesus say if you have seen me, you have seen the Father, there are three, but three are also one. John 15, first couple verses is the best explanation of the trinity, husbandman, vine, branches. Three but one, Father, Son, Holy Ghost. Jesus said, I AM the Vine, I AM, the great I AM of old Testament, Vine(Jesus) son of man, came in the flesh, the word became flesh and dwelt among us, Gospel of John, first couple verses. I know this is a lot to take in but send me an email and we will discuss. Jesus was from the beginning, I AM the Vine, when we get to Heaven someday you will only see Jesus, came as son of man, died on a cross for our sins, perfect sacrifice, veil in temple torn into, emptied out Abrahams Paradise, took all believers to third heaven with him. Have you ever been saved or born again, you can be right now, just say this sinners prayer, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

Jesus and the Father are one and when you have seen Jesus you have seen the Father. A carnal minded man cannot preceive the deep things of God. Reason being there is so much confusion. Peple wants to ask one another what God/Jesus means instead of praying and let God tell them personally. That is why a man must know God for himself and he need not any man teach them nothing.

Keep reading...it says that God is the Father,The Son and The Holy Spirit. The Holy Trinity.
It says we will never understand until we meet Him and then it will become clear....I believe it even suggests that to try to explain it is a sin....It has been so long since I read the Bible I can't be sure anymore.

God has created the Universe, God is running the Universe. God will destroy the Universe. God is the Origin of Universe. God is the Destination of Universe. Spirit can neither be created nor be destroyed. It moves from one body to another. Your body dies, not spirit. Your spirit gets new body after death, based upon your actions in this life. Your target is to make your spirit pure, so that it can merge in Super Spirit (God). Remember wherever there is Happiness in Life, there will be Sorrow. To get Happiness, you must master Sorrow.

Why isn't it possible for God to have many names and faces? People who seem to be worshiping a different God than ourselves, may simply be worshiping a side of God we do not see. Also Jesus never claimed to be anything more than the son of man, and one of God's children just as we are. When he taught us to pray, he began with "Our Father", not with anything different. I'm sure he knew exactly what he was saying.
Blessed Be

I believe in "The Godhead" which consists of 3 separate beings: God the father, Jesus the son, and his holy spirit. They are " One" in purpose, but separate beings. The bible talks this way. take Christ's baptism for example. Christ was baptized, His father was watching and approving in heaven, and the spirit descended in the form of a dove. it's kind of hard to be the same person and not the same person at the same time. it doesn't make sense.

God is one but he holds three offices. At the baptism of we see all three God said this is My son, Christ was baptized, and the spirit descended like a dove. It was the same at creation, Let us make man in are image.
