Yes, and your question is????

To all Mormon Bashers and Know-It-Alls, the orginal name of the church was The Church of Jesus Christ. The term "of Latter-Day Saints" was added to distinguish it from of the original Church that Christ established during his day, of which fell away with the death of the apostles, and from it, the restored Church of Jesus Christ.

The Church was NEVER called the Church of Latter-Day Saints nor was it ever officially called the Mormon Church.

Yes, as a Jesusonian Christian Theologian and Evangelist, I know all major Christian denominations well.

Our Mormon Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ are just as much sincere Christians as any other mainline Christian denominations. I share Truth from all sources. Years ago, I did peruse all of their "Book of Mormon" and found just about three typed pages of deep spiritual Truths that should be shared with all; I do reject the history parts -- not much important to me, and also the "BOM" has too much Old Testament tossed in.

Here is my favorite Eternal Truth "BOM" passage:

"Jesus Christ is BOTH GOD the Father and GOD the Son."

Amen ! That's better than most Christians now know ! And even many LDS Mormons don't yet know that Truth is in their "BOM" ! But we all will Know this Truth in Spirit !

The strength of LDS is in their belief in God's continuing Revelation to all generations and ever expanding in Jesus here in Spirit. John 16:7-16

The weakness of LDS is their too rigid ecclesiastical hierarchy, and praying for the dead. They do continue to progress though, and have rightfully abandoned polygamy and the rejecting of black race humans as clergy candidates. I like their strong pro-family and pro-life morals. Better to be a Mormon living to age 85 or so on average than a degenerate hedonist-atheist who only lives here to about age 38 on average. Count the costs.

Maybe the LDS will progress up to calling themselves
"The Living Church of the Living Jesus Christ's Living Human faith-Sons of God." "TLCOTLJCLHF-SOG" :)) Then I would join them more fully in Spirit, if not in factual membership.

Peace and progress,
Brother Dave, a Jesusonian Christian Truthist

Yes, otherwise known as Mormons. They were originally known as the Church of Latter Day Saints, but later inserted the name of Jesus Christ into their name in order to sound more acceptable to the Christians they were trying to convert. But it still is not a Christian church. It is a multitheistic religion, which immediately places it far apart from Christianity.

Mormon Marketing.

The name Mormon became associated with polygamy and as cultic because if its reliance on the concept of progressive growth into prophets, instead of a reliance on Jesus Christ as the only savior and God.

So the church made a brilliant marketing move, and renamed themselves to focus on Jesus Christ and the fact that they are saints and a good family organization.

Of course we have, they're the Mormons. A bit odd and cultish in my opinion, but they also help people out with researching their geneaology, which is why I have been in contact with them for several years now.

Why do you ask?
