Hi and good morning...I would say that they aren't accepting a faith in their own choosing. However, one can be without a certain religion but still believe in their God. Some individuals are not 'happy' with the religion they are accustom so they search for another that they can relate too. Just because an individual states they have no religion doesn't necessarily mean they don't believe. It depends on the individual. Now also if an individual states that they don't have a religion nor do they believe in their God then I would say they have no spirituality. They don't believe or have the concept that truthfully there is a God. It's how one believes within themselves. Have a great day!

That they do not believe in being a member of any particular religion. I would not assume that they have no religious beliefs whatsoever, their religious beliefs could be based on their spirituality & they may feel that there has been too much blood shed already with all religions believing that theirs is the 'right' one & yet all of them simply acknowledging that there is something is more powerful than mankind.
We are all born with the ability to be good and evil. The purpose of religion is to suppress evil (the D'evil') and promote the good (Go'o'd). It is the 'good' that we 'worship' and evil that we should 'condem', but by believing that one religion is superior than another is wrong in itself. Each religion is particularly defined to fit the culture & society in which it's greatest theologists hoped to improve life. The ethos remains the same & the sooner we realise that we're all worshipping the same greater power than mankind the 'better' we will become & the less opportunities the politicians & heads of the Churches will have to use as an excuse for shedding the blood of our 'brothers & sisters'.
Shedding the blood of mankind is evil for any reason but in the name of 'religion' it is completely unacceptable & clearly evil in todays world. All religious writings were written for a far different world than the one we now live in & even the way in which they are interpretted is contradictory. Therefore I would prefer to believe that if someone says they 'have no religion' they mean that they do not wish to be part of the 'segregation' which having different religions causes. We are all born with Spirituality which is the basis of all Religions.

Well if I am asked what religion I am, I tell them that I am a Christian but I do not follow organized religion.
It does not mean I don't believe in God or that I am trying to take something away from the religious aspect. But I happen to feel that alot of organized religions use pressure and alot of guilt to get a point across and I'd rather not be a part of that.

To me usually it means that they are atheist. Most people call Christianity a religion. I don't really like that term because I think you can be religious without being a spiritual person but when I hear that statement from someone it is usually followed up with I don't belive in God.

The term "religion" is man-made. Even in Christianity - it is Salvation that Christians seek. Religion gets in the way 99% of the time, and causes people to argue. If a person has "no" religion then maybe they haven't found a suitable faith/belief that they can say that they fully believe in. Show them why you believe the way you do, without making them feel insecure or unintelligent.

I would interpret it as they are choosing to not believe in any religious figure. or maybe they haven't yet decided on how they feel. However, just because someone doesn't have a "religion" doesn't make them anti-god or not spiritual. Religion is a choice. we have options and some of us choose to look outside the box and decide for ourselves

They might not practice or even believe what may constitute religion|
But interestingly, I believe that it is still possible for God`s saving grace to be in that person`s soul, as God sees that person`s openness and good-will and grants Him his grace|
Their non-religion would not then be the result of an arrogant stance (which would *indeed* be damnable in God`s eyes), but perhaps because they were never raised in a religion or because of bad example, they honestly thought that religion (or *a* religion) was evil
God would not hold them responsible for that since the guilt of sin can only occur if one *knows* what is right and then willingly refuses to partake of it - God does not condemn on mere technical or legalistic grounds|

in basic silogism term. Some people who have the sense of analogy will be like this. If you see a louis vuitton bag you will think about the LV bag maker. If you use AVG u will think about grisoft. If u see your hands u will think about the hand maker. If u see human u will think about the human maker. If u see the sun you will see about the sun maker. people whose religion will be like that. U believe that there is electricity without seeing what electricity looks like, u understand the term of love without seeing the real form of love looks like. I guess person who have no religion is like the customer who just use the facility and product without caring for the producer of the product. Like using the pirated version of microsoft software without knowing who the hell is Bill Gates.

I would take it as that they don't have a set religion, but they still beleive in most of the religious things, Maybe they just don't beleive in organized religion? I wouldn't take it as them being an atheist or agnostic because I am atheist and when someone asks me, I say just that, that I am atheist.
