Since the Jehovah's Witness organization currently rejects most of the teachings of its founder Charles Taze Russell (who was president of the organization from 1879-1916), and since they also reject "Judge" Joseph Franklin Rutherford, who succeeded Russell as president from 1916 - 1942, how can we be sure that in 25 more years, Jehovah's Witnesses won't also reject president, Milton G. Henschel as they did Russell and Rutherford?

I don't see why being born in a country should mean you have to automatically be loyal to it and love it, right?

About this question, my husband had given it to me after I had called my doctor. I was hospitalized on Monday with severe migraines caused by the stress of my father dying. They were so bad to the point that I was vomiting. I kept having headaches until last night. My back was also in a great deal of pain from having wrenched it when I moved a couch, which my friends know about. The accident they were talking about when the couch fell on me down the stairs. I was not using these as a way of getting high or anything else so foolish. It was ok'd by a doctor. But I was such a wreck last night after the funeral and in so much pain in my head and in my back that nothing else could be done.

As for those who did not know, I understand they did not know about the accident and the physical pain.

As for people who do take drugs without having physical pain, are they using it as a crutch? Do they believe in God or not? Can they increase their spirituality and overcome it?

New Pledge of Allegiance!

Since the Pledge of Allegiance
and The Lord's Prayer

is not allowed in most public schools anymore

Because the word "God" is mentioned....

A kid in Arizona wrote the attached NEW School prayer.

Now I sit me down in school

Where praying is against the rule

For this great nation under God

Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,

It violates the Bill of Rights.

And anytime my head I bow

Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,

That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.

The law is specific, the law is precise.

Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall

Might offend someone with no faith at all.

In silence alone we must meditate,

God's name is prohibited by the state.

in praying for bacon and eggs. She recently became a user here and she blasphemes God and uses an X for the Christ in Christians. She seems to dispise us and asking blasphemous questions. Don't damn her, for I believe this is what she wants. She wants the body of Christ, followers of God, servants of the Lord, Jesus Christ to become unforgiving and hating towards those who don't believe in God and those who curse His name. Remain as the body of Christ, my brothers and sisters, and let's lead people to Jesus! For this is the first of many strikes to Satan and his demonic horde. Pray for her! Pray with all of heart, mind and soul and praise the name of Jesus!!!!!!

Religion can be defined as “belief in God or gods to be worshipped, usually expressed in conduct and ritual” or “any specific system of belief, worship, etc., often involving a code of ethics.” Many religons have caused death and war. But what do you believe is the True Religion? and Do you really think that all religious beliefs eventually leads to the one true God?

Ok so have you ever noticed how like, people look like different animals and have personalities like them too? Like, I have this friend who looks like a fish with huge eyes that bug out and shes a competitive swimmer and then i have this other friend thats short, and has long hair thats straight and she's like skinny and has dark circles under her eyes and has a striaght body figure and she's sorta sneaky and has a squeaky voice and she reminds me of a ferret and then i have this other friend thats really pretty, nice, funny and playfull and looks like a golden retriever. and then i asked my mom what i look like and she said i look like a corgi and im like whoah because i have a really bubbly energetic personality and i do like, 5 different sports rite now! its creepy. what r ur thoughts on this? like maybe if we did evolve (i know we didnt) then maybe thats the animal we would've evolved from or whatever? Tell me what you think!

People like to bring up minor stuff like where it says Moses went up this particular mountain but in another version it says he went up another mountain or the part where there are two different versions of how many animals went into the ark.

These are NOTHING but MINOR mistakes. Mistakes happen. People are human and they will be made, especially if a book is long enough and old enough.

These mistakes have absolutely NOTHING to do with whether or not it is true. Agree?

repenting of your sins are the only required beliefs to get into heaven, or does belief in various religious doctrine make a difference too?
I ask because I sometimes see Christians saying that certain sects are going to hell for having a difference of beliefs (Mormons, JWs, Catholics)
For example, certain sects believe in Jesus in the savior of the world but don't believe in the trinity and they worship God as a seperate being- do you think those kinds of difference in doctrine makes a difference in whether or not they go to heaven?

People of all religious faiths, including humanism and atheism, are welcome to give their views. I'm looking for ideas about enduring happiness, rather than a transitory emotion, and for an explanation of how your faith in God, humanity, or nothing makes enduring happiness possible.

I am a christian, but I have very "strange beliefs". Or so I am told. I ask questions, I dont believe you should follow something blindly. Sitting there and accepting the answer "God knows, you dont have to" just doesn't cut it for me. Some things are based on faith, but I try and put actual LOGIC into it.I have a question for some people. I have seen comments made like this, and it makes me sad.
"I was seeing this really great guy/girl and then she/he started being very beotchy/abusive....he is a church boy/girl, why is he like this?"...Just because someone believes in God does not make them a good human being.Hitler believed in God. Those effing preists that are molesting little boys and telling them they are going to hell if they tell anyone believe in God.
Just because someone is a "church boy/girl" doesn't mean they are sweet people.

Believe in God Or "The Fairy In The Sky" as some atheists call it, but dont follow blindly.
Ask questions, and dont believe everything you read

Is that not ever so kind of him? I told you so !

I also hear he is looking for an American wife, not too young, say about 14, and blond. Up to 4 of them atually.

He has dyed his beard (using burnt cork and lard, all organic, no chemicals) and he looks younger and stronger now , but please girls, do not all rush at the same time. There will be opportunity for another 4, in six months, when he divorces the first lot. Too many wives expecting sex every night are very exhausting for a man, you know. Even Muhammad (blessed be his name) could not manage more than 4 at a time. And the rumor has it his youngest one who was nine years old, used to prefer playing with dolls rather than cooking his dinner and cleaning his boots.

As the mosques in US do not have the secretariat to handle the millions of applications expected, those who wish to take up bin Laden's gracious offer, please apply to him directly.

This is a question to 'sensible' christians who actually believe in the scientific fact of evolution. (In other words if any creationists are reading this then bug off!)

Given that Darwin's theory of evolution is now an established theory of how mankind came to be I wondered if you could explain to me when in our evolution did humans develop souls which are capable of going to heaven.

The only alternative is that we always had souls but that would mean that all other lifeforms (including bacteria) have souls too because we all evolved from the same place, ie. the primeval swamps of planet earth.

Was it a recent occurrence, say 6,000 years ago, or did it occur as soon as modern homo sapiens had evolved?

At first I used to think these were just typos but they come up way too frequently. Either theists seem to have a natural tendency to be poor spellers, or they are trying to accomplish something. So why is it so hard for believers to spell atheist correctly?

My BFF is an atheist.I am a christian.
Her MAIN proof that god isn't very great, is that "If God Loves Us So Much Then Why Wont He Let EVERYONE In Heaven! Why Wont He Let All The Good People In?"
Well, one day, We were14 years old and at my moms resturant. I went to the restroom and told Briana to get anything she wanted, cause my mom was the owner and for me, it was free. She tells me later on, that she ordered all the food, but the waiter asked her if he had money, When briana said No, the waiter said he could not give her food without her paying. But then Briana told him she was with me and that she new my mom.
And after she told me this, it helped me to explain.
I said:
See? There is NO WAY that he would have given you that food if you were just a Good Person. You had to know ME and my mom to get it for free.
You cant get into heaven for being a "good person".
You have to "know" Jesus and his father.

She was a little more open to religion after that
