I am a christian, but I have very "strange beliefs". Or so I am told. I ask questions, I dont believe you should follow something blindly. Sitting there and accepting the answer "God knows, you dont have to" just doesn't cut it for me. Some things are based on faith, but I try and put actual LOGIC into it.I have a question for some people. I have seen comments made like this, and it makes me sad.
"I was seeing this really great guy/girl and then she/he started being very beotchy/abusive....he is a church boy/girl, why is he like this?"...Just because someone believes in God does not make them a good human being.Hitler believed in God. Those effing preists that are molesting little boys and telling them they are going to hell if they tell anyone believe in God.
Just because someone is a "church boy/girl" doesn't mean they are sweet people.
Believe in God Or "The Fairy In The Sky" as some atheists call it, but dont follow blindly.
Ask questions, and dont believe everything you read

If you are told " God knows you don't need to" more than likely the answerer does not know the answer.
There are many things that need preparation - certain concepts need a "background" to be understood.
I was given this example:
We are hungry - We can not open the empty refrigerator cupboard and make a meal.
First to the store - then the preparation - then the meal.
Once the knowledge is learned that is the base or foundation then time of cooking(assimilation) then the awareness.
There are poisoners, These parade around as good Christians and even religious leaders of on sort or another. Theses are the Wolves in Sheep's clothing that is written about in the Bible.

Truth is reasonable. God says, Let us reason together. God never expects a person to blindly accept what they even haven't reasoned in their heart yet. God answers my questions and I am grateful. I was worried about raising a son in this world and the message the Lord conveyed to me was, because Jesus lives, I can face tomorrow. He will be with me. Another time I questioned God. I told Him that I didn't understand Him. I knew in my heart that God is a healer and loves people more than I could ever. So why didn't God heal them? The Lord conveyed to me that He values something in us more than physical healing and when He uses someone like Joni Erickson Tada in this life, He will either heal them in this life or heal them in the next. Joni Erickson Tada will be able to walk again, that is a certainty. I never do wrong in bringing my questions to the Lord as long as I am sincere and respectful. If all this is true then the truth certainly is going to survive sincere questioning. I reason, but I have to get all the facts. Then I understand as the Spirit guides me. I went from the question, is there a God and how would I know that, if there were no Bible. God never bi-passes our reason. Never.
I honestly concluded there was a God. That's a long story in itself. Then I opened up the Bible and read in John. Now I was confronted with a choice. I either believed what Jesus said about Himself or not. I found in honesty I could not deny Him. There is much tradition, false teaching and false leaders afoot in the Kingdom of God. Only as we know the Word of God, the Bible, do we have the wisdom to call a crow a crow. A man rises up and does great miracles and says he is Christ. Do the miracles prove that? No, it proves the false Christs are real agents of the evil one. Christ said don't fall for them. When He appears again, the sun will fail and so will the moon. The stars will fall. Suddenly Jesus Christ will appear in great clouds of glory his face shining like the sun. So, the Bible is the most powerful book I have ever read. No wonder, that book has been inspired by the Holy Spirit. Read it; study it; ponder it; ask questions; seek and you will find. Pray to the Lord ever day. Even if you don't feel His presence, God will be changing your heart. He is with you whether you feel him or not. I will never leave you nor forsake you. God is not a man that he should lie. Now take that to the bank. Get your eyes off others -- sure there are bad people -- and turn your eyes toward Jesus.

I'm like some of the others, I didn't get the question. I assume you are asking if people think you are right. Well, you are. Belief is not the total package; even demons believe in God. And you shouldn't follow blindly. The Bible tells us to 'work out our salvation with fear and trembling'; not 'accept without question'. But if you search, God will provide the answers.

There is nothing wrong with asking questions. If you are in a church that discourages it then you are in the wrong church. In fact I encourage you to go to the following message board where I'm sure many of your questions will get answered. You're right, just because a person is churched doesn't mean they are saved. There are lots of churches that call themselves "Christian" which really aren't. If you go to a church and they do not read and preach directly out of the King James Version Bible then you are in the wrong church and possibly not even a truly Christian church.
Here is the URL for the messageboard I mentioned.

Blessed are those that believe without seeing. It is by faith not by sight not by what we believe but what has been given us. Of course not all Or none are Good people for all have sinned fall short of Glory of God. Churches are like a hospital for spiritually sick people the Dr is Jesus Christ you well find every malady common to man in churches especially clergy why do you think clergy have so many problems they are marked men they step out in faith they fall short, but as it says in scripture keep your eye on Christ the perfecter of us,not on men every time you focus on men(Women)you will be disappointed

I'm a strong Christian, and you have a point about how not every person who is a christian is a good person.
However, you'll find all your answers in the Bible. The Bible is 100% true, and that's what you should believe.
I know that it's also hard just to believe something, when it has no logic answer, but that's what it means to be a Christian. Although you can't see God, he is always there. It's just something that you need to believe.

If there is an all knowing being called God, He would know the motivation for everything we do. Being that He is all knowing, He alone would be able to judge the true culpability of the act. So I agree that folks should not be judged based on their religions but on their compact with God. Even Jesus said "What you bind on Earth is bound in Heaven."

You can't have the good without the bad hun. It's not possible. Even God created evil(sense he did create everything). Somehow, in the perfect paradise he created for us, something backfired on him, and caused Adam and Eve to disobey him. A lot of people blame God for bad things happening to them. I blame Adam and Eve. They gave up the chance of a lifetime! (sorry, I didn't really know what to say, you made a good point). :op
