I want to post this on two fronts. yet I think religious people need this more that Homosexuals.

I am a convert. From Christianity to Atheism. I grew up beliveing that Homosexuality was a sin. So strong was that belief that after convertion I still saw it as unnatural.
I read a young man's story and it grabbed me. People condem him, and he wants so much not to be Gay but he is. It is obviously not a choice as he continues not to "practice" In hopes that he will pass from this, that God might save him, A God that he believes in. Yet he finds that he is still attracted to boys. He does not want to be punished by God for his sin. And he has asked Jesus to come and save him. But he is still gay.
He want's to know why God made him this way. He has not choosen this. My heart went out to this story. I have been so wrong. We need to educate, and abolish cults that make a boy suffer like this. This is not just about homosexuality but all issues made taboo. Education or Religion?

This phrase "standing on the shoulders of giants" should be applied to God if you're going to compare with human designers.

Throughout the internet atheists hatefully attack Christians yet never attack Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Jains, etc. Why is this?

I had a really wonderful LDS friend who was in her mid-fifties. She'd been married for 35 years to a man who was a High Priest and a Stake President. They had 5 grown kids, all active in the Church, and both my friend and her husband were pillars of kindness and virtue in the community.

For whatever reason, her husband became interested in another (married) woman in his ward; he said they were dating in chastity after he left his wife, and wanted to be married. Both divorces were approved, they apparently got a Temple recommend and he was sealed to his second wife, and she was unsealed to her first husband and sealed to him instead. I don't know if my friend's husband was also "unsealed" to her, but I imagine that would be necessary if she wanted to marry again, since she can only be sealed to one husband in the Celestial Kingdom.

Anyway, it just seemed like my dear friend got a dirty deal and I wondered how many Mormons would agree with me. How often does this happen?

Evolution and Creation are both assumed, not observed. Both of them can't be repeated with experiment. YOU choose between either. not "science". Many say that Evolution is proven and is science well it's not. can you repeat it? no. do you have any convincing proof? no. so evolutionists, stop killing Creation when your theory has equal value.

Its picked up no doubt due to the video that came out yesterday. How much longer do you think the bashing will continue at it's current level? A couple of days, a couple of weeks, until the end of Ramadan, or until Christmas passes? What do you think?

I work at an airport and on both sides of me I have big screen tvs playing CNN Headline News. Needless to say I get a lot of remarks... I was hoping to have a couple of months with relatively little bother becuase once Thanksgiving comes I get hasseled all day every day until the end of the Christmas season.

daily Bible reading I came across a verse that describe hell , incase U are seeking & want a good description , as there R people who R seeking & then there R those of us who have made up our minds against or 4 God
He who was seated on the throne said, 'I am making everything new!' Then he said, 'Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.' He said to me: 'It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.' Revelation 21:5-8 NIV

Much of the doctrine for this group is centered around denying the Trinity. that's their right of course. However, do all JW's know how the New World translation of the bible distorts John 1:1?
Dr. Julius R. Mantey (who is even recognized by the Watchtower as a Greek scholar since they quote his book on page 1158 of their Kingdom Interlinear Translation): calls the Watchtower translation of John 1:1 "A grossly misleading translation. It is neither scholarly nor reasonable to translate John l:1 'the Word was a god. 'But of all the scholars in the world, so far as we know, none have translated this verse as Jehovah's Witnesses have done." "I was disturbed because they (the Watchtower) had misquoted me in support of their translation. I called their attention to the fact that the whole body of the New Testament was against their view. Throughout the New Testament, Jesus is glorified and magnified--yet here they were denigrating Him and making Him into a little god of pagan concept . . .1 believe it's a terrible thing for a person to be deceived and go into eternity lost, forever lost because somebody deliberately misled him by distorting the Scripture!. . . Ninety-nine percent of the scholars of the world who know Greek and who have helped translate the Bible are in disagreement with the Jehovah's Witnesses. People who are looking for the truth ought to know what the majority of the scholars really believe. They should not allow themselves to be misled by the Jehovah's Witnesses and end up in hell." (Ron Rhodes "Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovah's Witnesses" p.103-105)
