Is it possible that the mention of unicorns were based on this:

And yes, I know that the species was extinct before the Bible was written, but that doesn't mean that there weren't other species LIKE the one in the link.

well who's to say there is not a unicorn in the KJV , i myself feel that people may mistake the unicorn for another animal or could it just be that through evolvement the unicorn was real and has now died out nobody knows for sure.

however it is reasonably known that the unicorn was just a fantasy creature made up for stories.

Dont know about that one,but do know that National Geographic uses the Bible because of its historical accuracy check into the validity of the Bible its pretty incredible and well documented>

It is believed by many that the story of Unicorns comes from stories about Rhinos, while Unicorn horns come from Narwhals (they are those whales with the massive horn).

The reason that Unicorns are in the KJV is because of a mistranslation.

I think if they are mentioned in any way shape or form: It's because something mainly symbolic was trying to be explained/expressed !?! Now I'm not for CERTAIN !! But I still just do'nt think I'll ever put much',. if any belief that they played some "COMMON-PLACE- Roll in history!!.

Some think it was an antelope type animal... and yes, it is possible that it is based on something similar to that. Though, I would have to say that this "Theory" would back up evolution even more.
