Its picked up no doubt due to the video that came out yesterday. How much longer do you think the bashing will continue at it's current level? A couple of days, a couple of weeks, until the end of Ramadan, or until Christmas passes? What do you think?

I work at an airport and on both sides of me I have big screen tvs playing CNN Headline News. Needless to say I get a lot of remarks... I was hoping to have a couple of months with relatively little bother becuase once Thanksgiving comes I get hasseled all day every day until the end of the Christmas season.

Dahlia O, Isn't it wierd how the Christmas season is the worst?! I don't know why but people seem to get particularly religious and hateful or something. I don't get it either -- I thought 'tis the season to be jolly!

Forbearance is a lamp of God which leads the holder to His excellence; a person cannot be forbearing unless he is aided by the lights of gnosis and tawhid. Forbearance has five facets: when a man is exalted, but is then humbled; when he is truthful, he is accused of being a liar; when he calls people to the truth, he is scorned; when he is injured without having done any crime; and when he demands his rights and they oppose him.

When you have given each of these its due, you have achieved the goal. When you have countered the half-wit by turning away from him and not answering him, people will come to your aid, for he who wages war with a fool is like a man who puts wood on the fire.

The Holy Prophet said, 'The believer is like the earth: people obtain benefits from it while they are on it.' Whoever cannot endure people's harsh rudeness will not reach God's good pleasure, because His pleasure is closely linked with people's antipathy.

It depends what happens from here. If you remember Ramadan last year, the fighting in the Middle East got worse when many people here were saying it should calm down during that time (I'd have to say Ramadan is looking to be just as bad of a time as Christmas). If we see more of Osama calling all Americans (Why doesn't he include places in Europe? There are many places over there that are majority atheist) to convert or if we see a rise in the killings during Ramadan, then you will be hearing more remarks (sad to say). But if we don't see much more than what we do see now, then it shouldn't really pick up. I think a lot of people are just getting tired of whole thing. Hate does that.

Muslims? Or Jewish human beings? Or Blacks, Hispanics? Or Persians? Or Iraqis? Or human beings from Canada? Or Mexico, fairly now, ..., or human beings from Alabama? Or how approximately Okies? How approximately turn the clock back to Vietnam war days, what befell to all the "gooks"? Or WW2: "Jerrie's? vs Tommie's? Lol, its all the comparable factor. Which side of the fence are ye on comes to a decision sir! this is no longer very mature or clever to denigrate others! What is going around comes around. it fairly is why we desire VOLUNTARY egalitarianism. we desire the folk with severe fortunes, over some awful million, (start up at say 10 million and upward?), they helpful could do allot to help the planet. they could make a contribution extensive sums to non income companies that attend to pollutants problems, social welfare communities, ecologically sound residing house performance improve schemes for the detrimental/low income. city community farms, purchase 6 acres, demolish properties, build condos on much less area, then panorama and greens something as community land, as an occasion, regardless of ~. they can supply out limited unfastened use of patents, to enable decrease economies to make greater effective autos etc. we could behave and rapid, the momentum of planetary scale climate exchange isn't some thing to fool with.

Muslims have a long tradition of playing the victim while perpetrating aggressive violence. From Israel to Iran to Pakistan to Indonesia, they kill and torture and behead and say it is because Islam is under attack. But what is their definition of "under attack"? Muslims conquered half of Spain, and when the Spaniards took it back, the Muslims considered it theft! Anything but abject obedience is an "attack" to Muslims. If they are not put above everyone else, they feel they are below everyone else. They have a very hard time living in peace as equals with anyone.

I think this reveals an essential insecurity about their religion.

If it were only friendly muslims invading and infiltrating our western communities, it wouldn't have happened. Unfortunately it's not only the friendly muslims that do that, so we get wary of everybody linked to islam, because we can't distinguish the terrorist from the good. It's not our fault, it's what Osama wants us to do.
Also many muslims are in fact not friendly towards western society, even if they live there. In Europe many muslims came there for the money and wanted to return after a while, but in the end they didn't. They brought up their children in a way that's totally not acceptable in western society. They show a lot of disrespect to our society and customs, and we're no more than pig eating kafirs and dogs to a lot of them. I'll never treat a muslim with disrespect, they're just as human as I am, and I've worked with a lot of them, but from their side I've heard very different things. I've been shocked quite some times by them, and it left me wondering how some people can think like that, in respect of how they think about the non-muslims and women, especially the western women.
In fact the best "Arabs" that came here are the political and religious refugees that were prosecuted by their government of origin because they wanted democracy and secularity.

Here in the U.S. we are coming up to the 9/11 anniversary, so everything on t.v. is about that. Makes for a comfortable time at the grocery store, let me tell ya'. My wife doesn't go anywhere alone when there is a lot of anti-Islamic stuff on t.v., so I have to take her everywhere. Thanks a lot, History Channel.

Maybe until the moderate Muslims begin following Islam the correct way and stop calling the rest of us as extremists.

I agree with Excalibur that Muslims need one voice to lead and to condemn Bin Laden and extremists. One leader who could help people understand the religion and who could stand up to extremists and bigotry.
